Inside the #MoruleSipsAndVows celebration as Khuli Chana and Lamiez honour their cultural roots with a star-studded wedding in the North West

South African DJ and TV presenter Lamiez Holworthy is still on cloud nine after celebrating her wedding to rapper Khuli Chana, real name Khulane Morule, this past weekend.
In a recent social media post, Lamiez shared a video of the special event, gushing over the ceremony, which the couple labelled #MoruleSipsAndVows.

“Still not over this past weekend… allow me to post till my heart’s content,” she wrote, sharing new photos of the lavish event on her Facebook page.
The celebration took place in the North West, with Lamiez’s close friend, The Funny Chef, real name Lebogang Tlokana, serving as one of her bridesmaids. The bride looked radiant in a custom gown by renowned designer Orapeleng Modutle.
A “soft life” built on love
During her wedding speech, Lamiez explained how Khuli Chana has transformed her world, noting that since he entered her life, she has truly understood what it means to live a “soft life.”
“Wame, you put me and our children first. I have no doubt, even in my sleep, that you love me,” she said. “I remember when you said to your family, ‘I want to marry this woman,’ even though we had only been dating for months.”
She also reflected on their enduring bond.
“He paid lobola in 2019, just a few months after we started dating. Now, years later, we are still married, he still treats me like a queen, and we have a family of our own. That is how I know that God loves me.”
Honouring their roots
While the couple officially signed their marriage papers in 2022, this weekend marked their first major traditional celebration, where they honoured their diverse cultural backgrounds. Khuli Chana is a Motswana man from Mahikeng, while Lamiez embraces her diverse heritage, including Indian and Xitsonga roots.
The couple welcomed their first child together, Leano-Laone Zion Morule, in 2023. Khuli Chana also has a daughter from his previous relationship with former Hectic Nine-9 presenter Asanda Maku.
