DELIVERING on his commitment to prioritize education, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. approved key proposed legislative measures aimed at upgrading the education system and bolstering student well-being during the recently concluded 3rd Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) meeting in Malacañan Palace.
Presidential Communications Office (PCO) and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said President Marcos approved as priority bills the proposed Classroom-Building Acceleration Program (CAP) Act and amendments to the Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE) Act intended to improve the quality of education.
“Binigyang-halaga ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. ang pagsulong sa legislative measures na naglalayon ng mas mahusay na edukasyon at masigla at malusog na mag-aaral,” Castro said in a Palace press briefing on Wednesday.
Castro said the President also pushed for the passage of amendments to the Masustansyang Pagkain para sa Batang Pilipino Act that seek to enhance feeding programs in schools and day-care centers.
Castro added that President Marcos believes the legislative measure would contribute to the successful implementation of the government’s Yaman ng Kalusugan (YAKAP) program.
YAKAP is a primary care benefit package that includes free consultations, laboratory tests, and medicines.
The Palace Press Officer reaffirmed President Marcos’ commitment to ensuring that young Filipinos have the health and necessary support to help them achieve their dreams.
“Hangad ng Pangulo na masiguro na ang batang Pilipino ay malusog, masigla at mabigyan ng maganda at maayos na kinabukasan sa ilalim ng Bagong Pilipinas,” Castro said. PCO
