CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) continues to reinforce its commitment to personnel welfare by intensifying its mental health initiatives through the conduct of Psychiatric and Psychological Examinations (PPE) under the “Bantay Kaisipan” program.
The activity, held at Camp Olivas on Tuesday, also included the distribution of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, highlighting PNP Mental Health Red Flags and promoting mental health awareness among uniformed and non-uniformed personnel.
Under the guidance of Police Colonel Jonathan S. Adanglao, chief of the Regional Medical and Dental Unit 3 (RMDU3), the initiative aims to help personnel better understand mental health concerns, recognize early warning signs, and encourage them to seek timely professional support when needed.
The activity was facilitated by Police Captain Ventura P. Soriano, chief nurse and psychologist; Police Captain Emery R. Abalajon, psychometrician PCO; Police Executive Master Sergeant Lily Ambat; and Police Chief Master Sergeant Ethel Mae R. Buenaventura, nurse PNCO.
The team provided professional assessments and guidance to participating personnel as part of PRO3’s continuing efforts to safeguard the well-being of its workforce.
PRO3 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. emphasized that mental wellness is crucial in maintaining professionalism, discipline, and operational readiness within the police organization.
“Our personnel face daily pressures and challenges in the performance of duty. It is important that we provide them with the necessary support systems to maintain not only physical readiness but also mental and emotional well-being. Through programs like ‘Bantay Kaisipan,’ we strengthen our people so they can continue serving the public effectively,” Peñones said.
The initiative aligns with the Philippine National Police’s Focused Agenda under PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., and supports the organization’s guiding principles to Protect the People, Pursue Peace and Order, and Promote Professionalism.
PRO3 officials said the program also seeks to foster a culture within the police service where mental health awareness is openly discussed and seeking help is encouraged, ensuring that those who protect the public receive the care and support they deserve.
