The stunning Bryan Cranston, who has left audiences of pretty much all age groups baffled with his exceptional performances, is currently standing tall and proud of something other than his own masterpieces: His daughter, Taylor Dearder, who is currently riding high on the tides of success through her splendid work in The Pitt.
A 32-year-old actress who has earned some fairly praiseworthy credits under her name, Dearden is the Breaking Bad star’s daughter, and her performance in the recently concluded critically acclaimed medical drama TV series is being widely applauded. And Cranston, for one, couldn’t feel happier and prouder of his daughter’s success.
Bryan Cranston is proud of Taylor Dearden’s The Pitt’s success

A medical drama television series created by R. Scott Gemmill, The Pitt features a realistic exploration of the challenges that healthcare workers have to face in America, as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes of the emergency department staff working at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital, Pennsylvania.
Taylor Dearden plays the role of Dr. Melissa “Mel” King, a second-year resident, and is being widely praised for the same. With such spectacular success of the series, which has been rated 94% critically on Rotten Tomatoes, even Breaking Bad alum Bryan Cranston can’t help but be truly proud and happy for his daughter.
Talking to the AP at the premiere of Everything’s Going To Be Great at the Tribeca Festival on June 9, he said:
There’s nothing more gratifying than when your kid receives praise—nothing. No one can say anything to me that’s better than that. So, her mom and I are over the moon with her work on it. She’s a very hard-working person.
Dearden first caught the audience’s attention back in 2010, when she appeared in the episode called No Más in season 3 of Breaking Bad. Since then, besides starring in numerous short films, she has also been a part of Sweet/Vicious, American Vandal, For All Mankind, Heartthrob, The Last Champion, and 101 Ways to Get Rejected.
With The Pitt serving as her breakthrough role, being a child of two major talents in the industry—i.e., Cranston and Robin Dearden—even Cranston admits that acting is practically written in his daughter’s DNA. “She grew up in it,” the Malcolm in the Middle star noted. “So it’s in her bones. She’s in it for the right reasons,” and hopefully, she is loving every minute of it.
Bryan Cranston is open to giving his daughter advice, but also notes, “She’s doing great.”

Of course, with her earning acclaim for giving such a critically acclaimed rendition in the medical drama, it feels like Dearden will have to navigate through some serious star power. But she doesn’t need to worry, because if she ever needs advice, she doesn’t have to look far, having both of her parents as actors in the industry.
“I think she picks up—because I’m her dad—she picks up advice hopefully by the way I behave in this business and navigate my way through,” Cranston said. “But I don’t ever say, ‘Now young lady, here’s some advice I want to give you.’ Kids don’t want to hear that.”
Well, if Cranston is her idol, then she’ll get along just fine, for sure.
But for the Breaking Bad star himself, he feels his daughter is already doing pretty ‘great’. As he continued to heap praise on Taylor during the same interview, he said, “She’s doing great, and the show is fantastic.” Right on, Mr. Walter White. After all, how could anyone follow in your footsteps and be disappointing?
The Pitt can currently be streamed on Max.
