“We don’t want to lose”: I Know Black Clover Season 5 Animation Will be Peak After What Pierrot Boss Revealed About Demon Slayer

Black Clover is one of the series that Studio Pierrot could have taken more seriously, especially towards the beginning of the anime. The latter part of the series showed great dedication to quality, though nowhere near stuff like Demon Slayer or Jujutsu Kaisen.

Now that Black Clover is on an indefinite hiatus, it’s the perfect chance for the studio to take its animation seriously. There is plenty of time to plan for the future. After the mind-blowing animation of Bleach: TYBW, fans expect a much better performance from Black Clover as well.

Demon Slayer was a game-changer in the anime industry. Ufotable blended traditional and modern animation techniques as well as CGI to create fluid action scenes. The overall result is not only flawless but also breathtaking, and as a result, it raised the bar of animation quality in the entire industry. Nowadays, every new anime is compared to Demon Slayer when it comes to animation quality.

Michiyuki Honma, the president of Pierrot, is completely aware of the competition level now. In an interview, Honma admitted that Demon Slayer was a turning point. The time, hard work, and generous budget allowed it to be a huge hit when it aired. It also attracted a wide range of audience from different age groups.

I watched it. Before and after Demon Slayer was announced, I really felt that we had to change the way we create things.

He also revealed that other studios were releasing high-quality works, resulting in more competition. And in Japan, there was a perfect environment where these anime could be bolstered and watched on commercial television.

We don’t want to lose. Both Pierrot and I want to be number one. With that in mind, when we made Bleach: The Thousand-Year Blood War, the entire company took on the task of making a new anime.

Bleach: TYBW showed a massive dedication to animation quality, and Pierrot was able to turn the tide and join in the competition. When the arc aired, it quickly became a huge hit, raising expectations for other Pierrot series as well, including Black Clover.

Black Clover season 5 might become revolutionary if Pierrot wants it

From the looks of it, Studio Pierrot really wants to work on improving its animation quality. Bleach: TYBW is testament to its ongoing efforts, and hopefully, they will be just as dedicated in the future. Once again, Black Clover is yet to receive any updates regarding its comeback, but when it does air again, all eyes will be on Pierrot.

Season 5 of Black Clover has huge potential since it will cover the rest of my favorite arc, the Spade Kingdom Invasion arc. The Black Bulls and other magic knights will go head to head against the Dark Triad and various other devils. The upcoming arc also has some of the best fight sequences, which have made me anticipate its release for four years now.

So once Asta makes his return to the small screen, fans will be examining it with a hawk’s eye. The animation quality needs to be superior to or at least on par with Bleach: TYBW to make me satisfied.

Black Clover anime is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll.
