US President, Donald Trump has suggested that Israel may be preparing to launch a military strike on Irans nuclear facilities, signaling rising tensions in the Middle East and the potential for a significant escalation. During a press briefing at the White House, Trump responded to questions about possible Israeli action against Iran by saying, I dont want to say its imminent, but it looks like something that could very well happen. He emphasized that diplomatic efforts are still underway and that military conflict could be avoided if Iran agrees to make further concessions in ongoing negotiations with the United States. The comments came amid reports that Israel is considering preemptive measures to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. Look, its very simple. Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon, Trump said. Other than that, I want them to be successful. I want them to be tremendous. Well help them succeed, well trade with them, well do whatever is necessary. Despite his tough stance, Trump reiterated a preference for diplomacy. He pointed to the active efforts of his Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, who is working to broker an agreement that could avert conflict. Id much prefer an agreement, Trump said. If I think theres a chance at a deal, I dont want [Israel] going in because I think it could ruin it. It might even help it, but it could also blow it. Meanwhile, a senior Iranian official stated that Tehran would not give up its right to enrich uranium.
