Trace Cyrus took to social media to slam his estranged father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
“This man is so hungry for fame it’s pathetic. He really flew to Italy for a fashion show but wouldn’t come to LA for Mammie’s funeral while he was still married to my mom,” Trace, 36, claimed via his Instagram Story on Tuesday, June 10, alongside a photo of Billy Ray, 63. “Even after his daughter got him a 60K private jet like he demanded then he still didn’t come even after the plane was paid for.”
Trace continued: “You’re the lamest man to ever walk planet Earth. Honestly embarrassed to ever have considered you my idol. 
”
Trace added that the “best thing” to come out of his troubles with Billy Ray was that he’s been able to go into “beast mode.”

“I refuse to be a washed up, delusional, evil person when I’m old like you,” he penned. “Christ is King. Get right with God. You need it.”
Trace also tagged Billy Ray at the bottom of the upload and posted the message on his Instagram feed.
In a subsequent post, Trace poked fun at Billy Ray’s long locks.
“Also why does he think that homeless hairstyle looks good?” he wrote via his Story. “So weird.”
In an additional post, Trace shared a screenshot of an article about Nicolas Cage and his son Weston, where one of the commenters noted that Weston looks similar to Billy Ray. In the comments section, a fan accused Trace of “bullying” Billy Ray — and Trace clapped back.

“I’m past the point of even caring if I ever speak to him again. I’ve surpassed him in every metric as a man on this planet. There’s nothing left to learn from [him] except from his mistakes,” Trace replied. “I had hope at one point but I’m convinced he’s finally a lost cause. I’ll continue to thrive and as the oldest son of the family the Cyrus last name will continue through me and my many children I plan to have. I will raise them the right way and be a part of their life no matter what the circumstances are.”
Billy Ray declined to comment.
Billy Ray became the adoptive father of Trace and Brandi Cyrus after he wed Tish Cyrus in 1993. The pair welcomed Braison and daughters Miley Cyrus and Noah Cyrus before calling it quits in 2022. Billy Ray is also father to his son Christopher Cyrus, whom he shares with ex Kristin Luckey.

Trace and Billy Ray have had their fair share of ups and downs over the years. Earlier this year, Trace expressed his concern for his dad’s health after the country singer performed at President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January.
“Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you’ve pushed all of us away. … We are all hanging on to memories of the man we once knew & hoping for the day he returns,” Trace wrote via Instagram at the time. “You’re not healthy Dad & everyone is noticing it.”
Braison later gave an update on Billy Ray sharing that his dad was “healthy” after spending “a week in the hospital in the fall.”
