The Long-Awaited ‘Hamilton’ Reunion at the 2025 Tony Awards Is Sparking Some Major Feud Rumors

10 years after Hamilton made history on Broadway stages, the original cast reunited at the 2025 Tony Awards and took our breath away. In a performance that mashed all the most celebrated songs and singers from the show, the reunion was a true tribute to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s breakout hit.

But while fans all over the world were surely rapping and singing along to some of the biggest songs, including “My Shot,” “The Schuyler Sisters,” and “You’ll Be Back,” one absence was duly noted.

After all, while all the biggest stars of the show got at least a few seconds in the spotlight, including Miranda himself, Leslie Odom Jr., Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Jonathan Groff, Anthony Ramos, who portrayed both John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the show, went almost unnoticed. In fact, there’s a chance even major Hamilton fans missed Ramos when they watched the performance the first time around.

But, unlike how it may appear, Ramos did indeed show up, but only at the end.

While Christopher Jackson sang the last song, “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story,” Ramos joined him in the center and they shared a moment. Sadly, the camera panned out at that moment, once again missing Ramos from the frame.

After that, Ramos joined the rest of the cast in the final lineup and finale. He’s seen for a quick second, but is then blended in with everyone else.

On the internet, fans have had mixed reactions. While some are upset Ramos didn’t have a solo moment, many were quick to link the snub with the cheating scandal in 2021 between Ramos and his ex James Cephas Jonas, who plays Peggy Schuyler on the show.

“Anthony Ramos actually showing up for the Hamilton performance just to be constantly cut out of frame and the only man with a main role without a solo… omg,” wrote one user on X. “Wait,” another confused fan wrote. “Anthony Ramos is there but wasn’t included in the Hamilton reunion??”

Another side of the internet, however, has appreciated the snub and is guessing that it’s all a gesture to stand up for Cephas Jones. “Everything for Jasmine Cephas Jones and nothing for Anthony Ramos,” one X user celebrated. “Ariana DeBose getting more screen time as the Bullet than Anthony Ramos is dastardly. Levels of pettiness from the Hamilton team perhaps never before seen on TV,” another wrote.

While we might never know why Ramos got such a small screen time (perhaps he was just busy with another project), there’s no way Hamilton fans are that upset, right?
