Four years ago, Taylor Sheridan’s name was attached to a high-profile Michael B. Jordan movie that promised intensity and depth, but the final product didn’t live up to the hype. What could’ve been a breakout hit ended up feeling like wasted potential, stripped of Sheridan’s signature storytelling edge.
Now, years later, Sheridan’s circling back with a renewed focus and creative control, proving that unfinished business still burns strong. With a second shot at making stuff right, he ain’t just reviving a story, but reclaiming the vision that got buried under studio pressure the first time around.
Without Remorse gives Taylor Sheridan a surprise comeback on Prime Video

Taylor Sheridan’s name is back in the movie spotlight, thanks to Without Remorse, the 2021 action thriller that once felt like a missed shot. Now, it’s storming Prime Video’s global charts and finally getting the eyeballs it didn’t grab the first time.
The film stars Michael B. Jordan as a vengeful Navy SEAL on a blood-soaked mission after his wife’s murder. Sheridan co-wrote it with Will Staples, but despite its $65–$100 million budget, Without Remorse skipped theaters and landed directly on streaming. Critics gave it a brutal 45% Rotten Tomatoes score, and audiences weren’t much kinder.
Still, time’s a funny thing.
Today, Without Remorse is one of the most-watched movies on Prime globally, including in Israel and Australia. Four years later, viewers are giving the Tom Clancy-based thriller a second chance, maybe because it carries our Sicario writer’s gritty signature, even if slightly dulled by studio polish.
It was also the last film to give Taylor Sheridan a writing credit before he went all-in on TV. From Sicario to Hell or High Water to Wind River, his track record on the big screen was pure fire. But since then, his Paramount-powered TV empire (Yellowstone, Landman, and more) has taken over.
Now, with Without Remorse finding new life, TS’ movie magic might just be back in the conversation. And with reports linking him to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, he may be gearing up to conquer big-screen horror next.
Redemption arcs, folks? Sheridan writes those well, even his own.
Taylor Sheridan’s hit prequel 1923 rode onto Netflix on July 9, but only outside North America

Taylor Sheridan’s 1923 is saddling up for its Netflix debut, but not everywhere. Starting July 9, the Yellowstone prequel hit the streamer in select international regions, including most of Europe, the UK, and parts of Latin America like Brazil, per Collider.
Originally premiering in 2022, 1923 stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton, steering their ranch through Prohibition, pandemics, and the edge of the Great Depression. It’s gritty, grand, and sitting pretty with a 95% Rotten Tomatoes score.
With 1883, Yellowstone, and Lioness already circling global Netflix territories, Sheridan’s empire is slowly claiming streaming turf worldwide.
For those overseas who’ve yet to ride with the Duttons, this is your chance. For the rest… well, the wait continues, partner.
