Susanville City Council Allocates Funding for Honey Lake Valley Community Pool Operations

The Susanville City Council has approved funding for the operation of the Honey Lake Valley Community Pool to support the Lassen High School swim team and fall shoulder season programming. The pool, managed by the Honey Lake Valley Recreation Authority—a joint powers agency formed by the city and county—has received $80,000 in funding from both entities. Following the recent grand opening ceremony, many residents quickly took the opportunity to visit the new facility. In a letter to Lassen County Administrative Officer Maurice Anderson, Susanville City Manager Dan Newton has requested a one-time financial commitment from the county, ranging from $7,250 to $9,250, to cover additional operational costs. This request is set to be discussed at the Board of Supervisors meeting on June 10.
