A MAJOR supermarket has slashed the price of Guylian chocolates to just 40p in time for Father’s Day.
Boxes of Guylian’s Original Seashells, which contain six pieces of the premium chocolates, are now available at Asda for the bargain price – down from £1.98.

News of the discount was posted by a savvy shopper to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, who wrote: “Small guylian chocolates at Asda! 40p perfect little present for Father’s Day!!”
Fans of the sweet treat were quick to respond in the comments, with one declaring, “I need these”, and another hailing the deal as “unreal”.
Another user tagged a friend in the post, telling them to “grab seven boxes” the next time they’re in Asda.
One shopper also suggested buying them as a gift for teachers as the summer holidays approach.
The discount means the boxes of premium Belgian chocolates are now almost as cheap as a Cadbury’s Freddo – which currently sells for 35p.
It’s unclear whether the discount is available in Asda stores nationwide, as one shopper said the boxes were priced at £1.58 at their local branch.
Sainsbury’s is selling the same box of Guylian chocolates for £2.10, according to its website.
Back in March, Morrisons handed out 50,000 free boxes of Guylian Original Seashells chocolates to mothers in stores nationwide to celebrate Mother’s Day.
Other Father’s Day Bargains
In other discount news, B&M has slashed the price of massive 850g Dairy Milk chocolate bars to just £1, down from £3.
The offer can be snapped up at any B&M store as long as they have the snack in stock.
Tesco, meanwhile, has slashed the price of its giant bars of Toblerone for Clubcard members ahead of Father’s Day.
The 340 gram Milk Chocolate Toblerone with Honey and Almond is currently on sale for £6, the same price as Sainsbury’s, Ocado, and Morrisons.
However, shoppers with a Tesco Clubcard can nab the same chocolate bar for just £4.75 until June 15.
And it’s not just the classic Toblerone option that’s available as part of the offer.
The same-sized White Chocolate Toblerone with Honey and Almond Nougat is listed for the same price.
Even the lesser known Orange Twist Milk Toblerone is available as part of the deal.
Meanwhile, Aldi has launched a bargain beer dispenser on Specialbuy shelves this week for just £24.99.
There are also many places across the country giving dads free entry for Father’s Day.
Dads go free all weekend at the Whitehouse Farm Centre, 30 minutes north of Newcastle. An adults entry costs £15.95 online or £16.95 on the day as a walk-in.
Woodlands Leisure Park, Twinlakes Park, Wheelgate Theme Park, Powderham Castle and Dartmoor Zoo are also offering similar deals for dads.
Sea Life centres across the country are also offering free entry for dads from June 10 to 16.
If you’re looking to take dad out for a special meal this Father’s Day, there’s plenty of restaurants offering freebies and discounts.
Frankie and Benny’s, Prezzo, The Coconut Tree, TGI Friday’s, Wetherspoons and Las Iguanas are among the chains offering deals for dads this weekend.
How to save at Asda
Shop the budget range
Savvy shopper Eilish Stout-Cairns recommends that shoppers grab items from Asda’s Just Essentials range.
She said: “Asda’s budget range is easy to spot as it’s bright yellow! Keep your eyes peeled for yellow and you’ll find their Just Essentials range.
“It’s great value and I’ve found it has a much wider selection of budget items compared to other supermarkets.
Sign up to Asda Rewards
The savvy-saver also presses on the importance of signing up to Asda’s reward scheme.
She said: “Asda Rewards is free to join and if you shop at Asda you should absolutely sign up.
“As an Asda Rewards member, you’ll get exclusive discounts and offers, and you’ll also be able to earn 10% cashback on Star Products.
“This will go straight into your cashpot, and once you’ve earned at least £1, you can transfer the money in your cashpot into ASDA vouchers.
We’ve previously rounded up the best supermarket loyalty schemes – including the ones that will save you the most money.
Look out for booze deals
Eilish always suggests that shoppers looking to buy booze look out for bargain deals.
She said: “Asda often has an alcohol offer on: buy six bottles and save 25%.
“The offer includes selected bottles with red, white and rose options, as well as prosecco. There are usually lots of popular bottles included, for example, Oyster Bay Hawkes Bay Merlot, Oyster Bay Hawkes Bay Merlot and Freixenet Prosecco D.O.C.
“Obviously, the more expensive the bottles you choose, the more you save.”
Join Facebook groups
The savvy saver also recommends that fans of Asda join Facebook groups to keep in the know about the latest bargains in-store.
Eilish said: “I recommend joining the Latest Deals Facebook Group to find out about the latest deals and new launches in store.
“Every day, more than 250,000 deal hunters share their latest bargain finds and new releases.
“For example, recently a member shared a picture of Asda’s new Barbie range spotted in store.
“Another member shared the bargain outdoor plants she picked up, including roses for 47p, blackcurrant bushes for 14p and topiary trees for 14p.”
