Ryan Lochte’s Estranged Wife Demands Exclusive Use of Home Amid Divorce

Ryan Lochte’s estranged wife, Kayla Lochte, demanded exclusive use of the marital home she owns with the Olympic swimmer amid their divorce battle, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

According to court documents obtained by Us, Kayla, 33, asked the court to not allow Ryan, 40, to use the home in Terrace, Florida.

“[Kayla] needs the exclusive use of this home and the contents thereof both now and in the future for herself and the minor children,” her filing read.

The filing appears to indicate that Ryan has been staying at a separate home, worth $440,000, since March.

In addition, Kayla claims in her petition that during their marriage, Ryan took certain joint assets and income and purchased other assets, some of which are in his name, while others are not.

“[Those] assets are presently being held by [Ryan] in trust for and for all the benefit of [Kayla], and the court should award to [Kayla] her full interest in said assets,” her filing continued.

On top of that, Kayla claimed that Lochte Enterprises, LLC, was formed before the marriage but she put in a substantial amount of work into the business during the marriage.

She said the business was improved during the marriage through her and Ryan’s work and she wants a cut of the corporation.

She also asked for a cut of Legendaryswimming LLC, a business Ryan launched during the marriage that she said she helped make a success.

“[Kayla] makes a claim for equitable distribution of the corporate defendant because she has been of great assistance of [Ryan], only in the marital business but also in terms of providing a home environment which supported [Ryan’s] needs in every respect.”

As Us previously reported, on March 26, Kayla filed for divorce from Ryan after seven years of marriage.

The exes share three minor children: Caiden, born in 2017, Liv, born in 2019, and Georgia, born in 2023.

In her petition, she listed the date of marriage as January 9, 2018, and the date of separation as March 7.

Kayla said the “marriage of the parties is irretrievably broken.” She said she is the primary caretaker for the children.

Her petition asked the court to award her sole parental responsibility for the kids, but she proposed sharing legal custody.

Kayla also asked the court to award her child support and alimony. She said she is in need of “rehabilitative alimony to assist her financially while acquiring sufficient education, retraining, developing skill and/or improving her employment and income.”

She said she is without the funds to fully support herself without Ryan’s assistance.

She also asked that her attorney fees be covered by Ryan. In response, Ryan admitted that they owned the Florida home together but did not agree with his wife being granted exclusive use of the property.

Ryan filed a counter-petition to Kayla’s divorce. He disputed they split in March, as listed by his ex, and said the date of separation was April.

The Olympic swimmer asked the court to determine a parenting plan, child support and the division of their assets.

Ryan said Kayla should be on the hook for his legal fees. In his filing, he also denied Kayla’s claims about the business he launched during the marriage.

The case is ongoing.

Ryan spoke out after news broke about the divorce.

On social media, he said the split was “the right step toward peace and well-being for us both.”

“I remain committed to healing, growth, and co-parenting with care and respect as we move forward separately,” he added.
