Whenever the elements that contribute to an anime’s success are discussed, the opening or ending themes of the story hold a lot of significance. This might feel like it was started with the new generation of anime stories, but there were some old anime movies and series that contributed to its growth. The one name that comes to mind is One Punch Man by One and Yusuke Murata.
While it might not feel like it, One Punch Man has some of the best scores in anime history, and it is one of the most underrated contributors to the fame and recognition of the series, which it has achieved over the years. And the majority of its credit goes to Makoto Miyazaki.
Miyazaki has offered his talents to both seasons of One Punch Man, and in return, he has regained his love for his most iconic instrument. In a recent interview, he discussed this and explained his love for the guitar.
One Punch Man helped Makoto Miyazaki regain his love for the guitar
Crunchyroll recently interviewed Yasuharu Takanashi, Yuki Hayashi, and Makoto Miyazaki, the guest composers who have recently become a part of the concert series called Symphonic Anime. They are conducting tours all over the world and are on their way to perform in Canada and the US. During the interview, the music composers were asked about what stuck with them while they were creating themes for some of the iconic anime adaptations in history.

Miyazaki stated:
The soundtrack for One Punch Man. I have worked as a guitarist as well as a composer. After playing the guitar for a long time, I was a bit tired of the guitar sound, but it was decided in the meeting to feature the guitar in the music for One Punch Man. However, after finishing those songs and receiving good reviews from many people, I realized that the sound of the guitar is one of my core sounds. I’ve liked the guitar’s sound even more since then.
According to the One Punch Man music composer, he once lost his love for playing guitar as he got tired of the guitar sound. However, when he featured on the One Punch Man track, he was asked to include a guitar in the tune as well.
Thus, when he saw that the theme song of One Punch Man had received good reviews, he came to the realization that the guitar is one of his core sounds, and since then, he has been playing guitar continuously.
Makoto Miyazaki is returning once again for One Punch Man season 3
Each season of One Punch Man had a soundtrack album called One Take Man 1 and One Take Man 2. The first track album had 46 songs for season 1, and the second track album had 40 songs for season 2 of One Punch Man. The main contributor to both albums was Miyazaki, and he also worked on the soundtracks of a bunch of different One Punch Man Original Video Animations.
When the third season was announced, it was revealed that J.C. Staff, the studio that worked on the second season, was returning for the third one too. Along with the studio, Miyazaki was also making a comeback for the third season, which confirmed that the opening and ending themes, and the other soundtracks of the upcoming season, are also going to be bangers.

Hopefully, the third season proves itself because a lot of expectations have been riding on it since it was announced. While the official release date has not been officially revealed, the premiere timeline is scheduled to be sometime in October this year.
One Punch Man is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
