Money in the Bank Winners: Seth Rollins’ 2nd Contract Win Was as Obvious as Jacob Fatu Backstabbing Solo Sikoa

Money in the Bank has always been one of WWE’s most exciting and unpredictable events, but things might be shifting under Triple H’s leadership. Fans have been vocal about their frustration, claiming this year’s MITB match was way too predictable.

From the start, it felt like everyone knew exactly how things would play out. Seth Rollins was the clear favorite to win the briefcase, and Jacob Fatu’s betrayal of Solo Sikoa was practically written in the stars. And sure enough, that’s exactly what happened.

Seth Rollins was the clear favorite going into the match, and with Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker backing him up, his win felt like a done deal. Rollins had already won the contract before, so fans pretty much expected him to grab it again.

And sure enough, Triple H’s booking played out exactly how people predicted, something that probably wouldn’t have happened under Vince McMahon.

The match featured Solo Sikoa, LA Knight, Penta, Andrade, and El Grande Americano, so the lineup was stacked. Fans were on the edge of their seats, waiting for a twist that never came.

Sure, the in-ring action was incredible, and the athleticism was top-tier, but in the end, it unfolded exactly how everyone thought it would. Seth Rollins walked out with the briefcase for the second time, making the match one of the most predictable MITB bouts in recent history.

It will be interesting to see when and where Rollins decides to cash in his MITB contract and whether he will be able to successfully cash in his Money in the Bank contract again.

But one thing is for sure: Triple H is losing the trust of hardcore WWE fans, and the only way he can regain his position and trust in the combat sports community is by trying to deliver epic, unpredictable storylines we are used to seeing in WWE.

Jacob Fatu betraying Solo Sikoa was another expected segment from this year’s MITB

Apart from Seth Rollins winning the WWE Money in the Bank championship for a 2nd time, there was another incident which was likely to happen at this year’s Money in the Bank bout, and that is Jacob Fatu betraying Solo Sikoa.

Fatu kept his differences aside and supported the Bloodline on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown. But in return, Fatu got nothing more than a reason to betray Solo Sikoa. It all started when Fatu heard Sikoa and JC Mateo mocking and making fun of him in a backstage segment in this week’s episode of SmackDown.

Mateo claimed that Fatu was to be blamed for his loss to Jimmy Uso, to which Sikoa agreed and assured Mateo that he would keep Fatu in check. Sikoa and Mateo then went on to insult the United States Champion in every possible way, even mocking his signature catch phrase.

After the duo left the screen, the camera slowly turned to an enraged Fatu, whose reaction made it clear that a betrayal was evident and just a matter of days. Fatu finally went on to betray Sikoa at the MITB this year, which practically surprised no one.

WWE Money in the Bank 2025 is available to stream on Peacock in the United States, and on Netflix everywhere else.
