Patches are really important to all of us playing live-service games, and Marvel Rivals is no exception in this case. With the June 12 patch, a lot of things are coming, and everyone should be aware of that. The latest patch has it all, from the addition of new events to bug fixes.
The highlight of this patch is technically the 616 Vault event, which adds spectacular new skins. Now, don’t get your hopes up already, as it won’t be starting immediately. Some people need time to update the game, you know? Regardless, without wasting any time, let’s get you up to speed on what’s coming next.
A complete breakdown of the Marvel Rivals 616 Vault event

Events in Marvel Rivals are special to all of us, as they bring tonnes of goodies for us. This time, we’ll be getting back some older skins to celebrate 616 Day, which marks the beginning of the legendary 616 universe. The event will be only a week long, so you’ll have limited time to get all the goodies this event brings.
Starting June 13, players will be able to acquire limited-time skin bundles that are arriving with the 616 Vault event. This includes skins ranging from epic to legendary. Of course, you have to spend some digital money to acquire them in Marvel Rivals.
Additionally, all these skins have even featured during Season 0 of Marvel Rivals, so you can skip if you already have them acquired. Here are all the skins arriving with the new update:
Venom: Snow Symbiote Bundle (Legendary)
It’s a completely original skin, made for Marvel Rivals, which has blue highlights and icy-scaled teeth. Priced at 2200 Units, the bundle includes unique MVP animation, Emote, and more. These are the contents you can find in the bundle:

- Sky Shatter MVP animation
- Equipped For Battle emote
- Galactic Talon nameplate

Arrival of Future Foundation skins to Marvel Rivals

With the new patch, Future Foundation skins for Invisible Girl and The Thing will debut in Marvel Rivals. There’s no mention of Spider-Man and Mr. Fantastic Future Foundation skin release, but they are on the way.
The most eye-catching feature of this skin is the use of emotes to change suit colors. That’s rad! It’s a gimmick for sure, but that’s a first for Marvel Rivals. Would love to see it in action during games.
The Spider-Man and Mr. Fantastic skins for the Future Foundation aren’t present in the game yet, but we can guess they’d have the same effects. Maybe NetEase is trying to do something new with their skin lineups. Maybe we can be more dynamic skins in the future, who knows?
Hero fixes and balancing changes are coming to Marvel Rivals

Bug fixes:
During the Hero ban phase, the system didn’t work as intended. This was a huge issue for the players, as it caused imbalanced matchmaking. The developers were happy to announce that it wouldn’t be an issue.
If you’ve come across a Doctor Strange bug where he couldn’t use emotes in Doom Match, that has been fixed. The curse has finally been lifted. There are more fixes that were made, too.
If you dropped in to check Career custom data for Trusty Sidekick and Gifted Healer, there was some incorrect data at times, which has been dealt with. The same has been done to display Career Highest Rank Eternity scores for All Seasons. Lastly, there were times when the In-Game Friends status update would show up wrong in the lobby, which isn’t there anymore.
Balancing changes:
Some Heroes have also received balancing changes, which are technically bugs. For instance, Doctor Strange could make a portal into the spawn room, which isn’t possible anymore. There are no more detours.
Winter Soldier has a minor bug that interrupts his Ultimate ability if Moon Knight’s Ankh sends him flying at the time of activation. Khonshu has no power over that anymore, at least Marvel Rivals developers have made sure of it.
Lastly, the Storm and Jeff combo is technically getting a nerf? There was a bug with their team-up ability, which sent Jeff the Land Shark flying through the map. Pretty sure, Jeff is not an air shark, so devs have put him where he belongs.
It was a bit hilarious to see all these bugs in the Marvel Rivals, but still, they were out of order. Since Thanos won’t be happy to see them, the developers tried to balance them as much as possible. But would it be enough to save the game from losing its popularity?
Still, NetEase Games has been dedicated to making Marvel Rivals better than ever. We might feel they are only bringing new skins with limited new content, but things might look better in the future. It’s only a matter of time before they soar the skies or come tumbling down.
Do you think the balancing changes made to Marvel Rivals are perfect? Do you think the developers should be balancing the game further so that it remains fair for all? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
