We need to stop for a moment and talk about what the hell is going on in Love Island USA, and why we all, collectively, cannot stand the man that Ace Greene is. After Yulissa Escobar’s removal from the villa, Ace was eligible for recoupling by default. Despite the audience being confirmed (by his actions!) that he would probably be choosing Chelley Bissainthe for himself, the Bombshells’ entry proved everyone wrong.
When Amaya Espinal and Hannah Fields appear at the end of the Run the Bases challenge, Ace thinks of it as the perfect opportunity to make a move that no one would have expected, and I don’t mean it in a good way. After recoupling with Amaya, Ace has pretty much turned the viewers against him, especially with that god-awful heel click of his!

First of all, Ace just might not be as emotionally mature as he wants to think he is. Which is why everything that has been unfolding unfolded. In the past week, the twenty-two-year-old has been hinting at choosing Chelley at the recoupling. From forehead kisses to conversations full of innuendo, anyone would have assumed that the next recoupling would see the two joining forces.
Well, when Amaya entered as a bombshell, Ace pulled out a trick from his sleeve and decided to couple with her. Amaya, too, was interested in the man, just like the other residents of the villa. This came as a shock because viewers who have been following the show since day one would have sworn that Chelley and Ace had some sort of romantic chemistry, which he clearly lacked with Amaya.
So, why did he pick Amaya at the recoupling, only to push her away, create boundaries, and refuse to get to know her? Meanwhile, his relationship with Chelley only grew.
He told Amaya very clearly that he is a “slow burn” type of guy and asked her not to cuddle up with him or call him nicknames like “babe.” Even though she calls everyone around her babe, Ace going out of his way to stop Amaya from being affectionate towards him was a big red flag.
At the docks, the couple break things off, and as he walks away, the cameras capture him clicking his heels like he’s starring in a cheesy ’90s musical or something. Needless to say, viewers absolutely hated the moment, and one even came for his short height not matching his audacity (crying).

Love Island USA viewers want Ace out of the villa
Another thing fans were truly boggled by was Ace admitting that he wants to keep his options open after the recoupling. He then goes on to plan breakfast yoga for Chelley and even kisses her during a challenge (girl, run). Mind you, Chelley is already coupled with Austin Shepard. The drama just keeps getting messier, doesn’t it?
Having had enough, Amaya goes off on Ace for picking her at the recoupling despite clearly having feelings for Chelley. To which he replies, “I told you already that I’ve had a conenction with Chelley.” Then pick her!
All of this combined has fans convinced that they need Ace to be booted off the villa. Take a look at how fans are lobbying for his removal and even begging Chelley to consider therapy:

At this point, Ace isn’t just playing the game; he’s playing himself. Between the mixed signals, heel-click exits, and the love triangle he is in, fans are officially over it. The verdict seems to be that he might have to pack his things up pretty soon.
