Voight’s political fire didn’t stop here, and recently, in an X post (formerly Twitter), he tore down California Governor Gavin Newsom amid anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles (via Independent). He was shouting in the video, accusing Newsom of allowing “animals” to destroy the city, and his words echoed Trump’s hardline rhetoric.
Jon Voight and Angelina Jolie’s political feud
While Jon Voight’s political battles rage on, his most personal conflict might remain with his daughter, Angelina Jolie. In an interview with Variety, Voight publicly accused Jolie of being misled by “antisemitic people” at the United Nations.
Jolie has condemned Israel’s bombing of Gaza and believes that it was a deliberate action taken on a population that was trapped. To this, Voight responded with his own post, saying that he was “disappointed” because, like other people, his daughter had “no understanding of God’s honor, God’s truth.”

Despite all the disagreements, Voight claims that he deeply loves his daughter, saying. “When she’s having a tough time, I’m having a tough time.” But reconciliation seems distant, as the actor also believes that Jolie is trapped in a “Hollywood bubble” while she remains committed to her humanitarian work.
