The infamous God Valley incident is shrouded by countless mysteries and secrets waiting to be uncovered. These have fascinated One Piece fans all this time. However, among the many, there’s one in particular that people just can’t make sense of at all: why did Garp and Roger even team up? We’re talking about two opposite forces here!
Now it’s obvious, to fight against Rocks D. Xebec, right? But isn’t it weird? Why would the strongest rival pirates and marines reunite to take down just one man? Xebec can be powerful, but Garp and Roger are individual forces themselves to begin with. But, what if it’s because Rocks got the Domi reversed?
Imu might be the reason behind Rocks’ demonic aura

It’s not impossible to think Imu used his powers in God Valley, maybe even possessing a “god knight” similar to what happened in Elbaf. The place itself gives off this divine vibe after all. But isn’t it suspicious how all images of Rocks seem to have this eerie, demonic aura? Maybe it’s just the Yami Yami Fruit’s influence, but what if there’s more to it?
What if Oda’s been dropping hints all along about Imu’s true role in Rocks’ evil deeds? Maybe he manipulated Rocks, turning him into a corrupted version of himself. This must be why Rocks’ legacy is shrouded in darkness and evil. It’s a crazy theory, but it’d explain a lot.
If this is the case, then the whole narrative around Rocks’ character takes on a whole new meaning. Some fans even speculate that Rocks, Roger, and Garp were actually “Sake brothers”!
While it may sound far-fetched, it’s not entirely impossible in the One Piece universe. If Oda’s known for one thing, it’s subverting our expectations and throwing curveballs. So, who knows? Maybe there’s some truth to these theories, and we’ll find out in a future arc.
Rocks may not be the evil that we think he is!
The God Valley incident is one of those moments in the One Piece timeline that makes you wonder what was really going on behind the scenes. We even got to see Roger and Garp teaming up – that’s already a big deal. But let’s be real, the only force powerful enough to bring those two together would be someone like Imu.
Rocks’ crew is a who’s who of One Piece‘s strongest characters – Whitebeard, Kaido, Big Mom – all of them are literal monsters. But you mustn’t forget that someone like Whitebeard, who valued family and honor above all else, also followed Rocks.

This alone says a lot about Rocks’ character, suggesting he may not be the evil we think he is.
We’ll probably get more answers about this as the story moves forward. Oda’s been dropping hints left and right, and it’s certain we’ll see more connections between the past and present. For now, it’s fun to speculate about what really happened at God Valley and how it all ties into the bigger picture.
