Holy Democracy! Helldivers 2 Leaks Claim the Illuminate Are Returning With 3 Terrifying New Units You’re Not Ready For

In Helldivers 2, just when you thought Super Earth had finally put the Illuminate in their place after that humiliating defeat, those damn squids are creeping back into the picture. They were absolutely annihilated after their ill-fated invasion, leaving Super Earth in a state of “thank goodness, it’s over.”

Except they weren’t totally wiped out. A few remnants of their forces have been lying in wait, hiding in their dark little camps. A fresh leak has surfaced, and guess what? The Illuminate are back, and this time, they’ve brought backup. And not just any backup, terrifying new units. Great.

The latest twist in Helldivers 2: A sneak peek into the leaks

Alright, let’s rewind a bit to what’s been happening in Helldivers 2. After the Super Earth invasion of the Illuminate, we all thought it was time to kick back and enjoy some peace and democracy for a while. The Helldivers were set to finish off the last of the Illuminate forces hiding in their camps.

However, in a move that only the worst kinds of space invaders could pull off, the Terminids made their bold attack on Super Earth, forcing the Helldivers to put their plans on hold. Talk about bad timing!

Now, we’ve got new leaks flying in, and here’s the kicker: it looks like the Illuminate have been busy. While we were distracted squashing the bugs, they’ve been working on their comeback, gathering a new wave of troops that are sure to bring chaos to the galaxy.

According to a leak from Iron_S1ght (now a deleted tweet) (via Comicbook), we’re about to meet not one, not two, but THREE brand-new types of enemies. Sounds like the squid squad didn’t learn their lesson the first time around.

First up, the Outcast: a teleporting, dual-blading sniper/assassin hybrid who’s coming for you from all angles. Then, we’ve got the Xenobite, a speedy, phase-shifting variant of the Overseer.

And, last but not least, the Zealot Cultist: a twisted cultist who’ll summon armies and crack open warp gates like it’s a Sunday stroll. They’re bringing some serious backup, and it’s not looking good for democracy.

This is exactly what Helldivers 2 needs

Now, let’s be real for a second: Helldivers 2 was feeling a bit repetitive. Sure, mowing down waves of Terminids, Automatons, and Illuminate has been fun and all, but how many times can we run that same ol’ drill before it starts to feel like we’re stuck in a loop of “same fight, different day?”

Enter these new enemies, and suddenly the combat can feel fresh again. The developers over at Arrowhead Game Studios are making a savvy move here, shaking things up with some brand-new threats for the Helldivers to deal with. And trust us, we need it.

The introduction of these new enemies will not only keep things interesting but also put the “democracy” in Helldivers. Who doesn’t love the idea of teaching these new invaders a lesson in democracy, one explosive bullet at a time?

We get new tactics, new challenges, and maybe, just maybe, a chance to stop the Illuminate’s creepy cultists from getting too comfortable. It’s about to get a whole lot more interesting.

We’re not just going to stop the Illuminate this time, we’re going to make them wish they never crawled back out of their shadowy camps.
