The duo shared a passionate night in the third season of the show, and for the actor, the payoff was just as satisfying behind the scenes as it was on screen.

Talking about the long-awaited hookup in an interview via Parade, Ablack described it as “really rewarding.” He also said that it’s been three seasons of the show, but there was a five-year gap because of the strikes and delays actually to reach their scene, and for him, that made the entire anticipation even bigger. He added:

Even just as an actor, it’s a relief. It’s really rewarding. It’s been three seasons, but it’s taken five years just because of the strikes and any number of reasons for why it’s taking so long to get all this done, but all that has made the anticipation just grow.

After years of romantic tension and missed chances, Joe and Georgia finally acted on their feelings, and Ablack was glad to be part of that moment.

According to the actor, even filming the scene with Howey wasn’t awkward or serious. He added that the entire time, the duo was giggling and really enjoying it. Moreover, they were also delighted with their characters. While the scene added more layers to the already complicated story, it gave fans and Ablack a moment they had been waiting for.

Well! This was not the only surprising twist that Season 3 of the show threw at us, but it surely was the most wholesome of the lot. And just like Ablack, even fans are glad that the duo finally got together, as Joe was the one who’s always had Georgia’s back.

After their long-awaited sequence in Ginny & Georgia, Raymond Ablack shared in an interview with Swoon what this moment meant to him and how he sees the future of Joe and Georgia. He added that Joe has loved Georgia for years, even when she was married to someone else, and this moment was a personal victory for his character.

However, the romance hit pause soon after, as Georgia needed time to focus on her kids. Moreover, she also needed to rebuild her life after her murder trial and crumbling marriage with Paul. Despite the timing, Ablack believes that Joe isn’t hurt by her decision and that he’s actually relieved she finally admitted she has feelings for him too. And for Joe, that honesty meant everything.

The actor also added that his character never judged Georgia for her actions, even when she confessed to killing her ex-husbands. He sees her choices as driven by survival and love for her children. Looking ahead, Ablack is hopeful and even wants Joe to be the father of Georgia’s baby, though that mystery remains unsolved.

As for Season 4, Ablack hinted that Joe might reveal a darker, more complex side of himself that many weren’t aware of. But for now, he’s cheering for his character to find his happy ending with Georgia.
