George Clooney’s twins, Alexander and Ella, already have a great taste in music — and they are hoping to have a run-in with their favorite artist, Taylor Swift.
“They want to see Taylor Swift,” George, 64, told E! News during an interview on Sunday, June 8, while walking the 2025 Tonys red carpet. “The funniest part is that they have no idea of references. Robert De Niro will be at the house, and they’re like, ‘Who’s that?’ They don’t care.”
Swift, 35, took the world by storm with her Eras tour from 2023 to 2024, drawing celebrities to her colorful, can’t-miss shows across the world. While George admitted his kids might not know a lot about the legends of the entertainment industry, Alexander and Ella certainly seem pretty in tune with current music and film trends.
The actor shares his 8-year-old twins with wife and human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, and it seems like the kids also enjoyed yet another one of the biggest pop culture phenomena of the past year — Wicked. Part two of the film, starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, is due out in theaters on November 21, and the couple’s kids can’t wait to watch.

“They’re looking forward to the second part,” George said about his kids’ interest in the fantasy film franchise.
It was a big night for the actor at the Tonys, as he earned a nomination for Best Actor in a Play for Good Night, and Good Luck. Though he didn’t end up winning the award (the prize went to Cole Escola for their performance in Oh, Mary!) he earned praise and stellar ratings from those who tuned in to watch a broadcast of the Broadway show, which aired on CNN on June 7. The broadcast earned 7.34 million global viewers, an incredible achievement.
George dyed his hair black for the role of Edward R. Murrow, a move that he said his family was not a fan of.
“My wife is going to hate it because nothing makes you look older than when an older guy dyes his hair,” he told The New York Times in a February 20 interview.
“My kids are going to just laugh at me nonstop,” George added.
He also admitted that the new hair color wasn’t his “favorite look.”
“My wife, she thinks it’s funny,” he said during an appearance on CBS Mornings in April. “Honestly, nothing makes you look older than being 63 and dyeing your hair.”
Much to the delight of his family, George returned to his signature salt and pepper hair for the Tonys.
“I had to cut it all out with a weed whacker to get it all,” he joked. “That black hair dye, I had to cut it out. You can’t color that.”
Hair jokes aside, George was all smiles on the red carpet, as he also praised his wife for being so supportive and successful in her own right.
“I have this incredible partner who I couldn’t be more proud of,” the actor shared. “She’s the bravest human being I’ve ever met in my life. I am deeply proud of her and the fact that she’s in any way proud of me, if just, I can’t believe how lucky I am.”
