FAIR City star Tina Kellegher has opened up about her family life and revealed the reason she stepped back from the hit RTE show.
The actress, best known for playing Ger Lynch in the popular soap, returned to Carrigstown earlier this month after her character fled the country three years ago.

The crime boss vanished from the show back in 2021 with Darragh and Lee to escape questioning from cops when Will turned up dead.
She ordered the pair to rough up the nurse over a debt, but things got out of hand and he ended up dead.
The 58-year-old lives in Westmeath with her husband Gordon Wycherley and their two sons, where she balances acting with a hectic home life.
Tina recently told RSVP: “My husband Gordon is great, but I try not to ask too much of him. My young fella used to be fantastic, but he’s 17 now.
“I talk out loud and mainly do it myself. I’m in a house full of men with a husband, two sons and two male dogs. They don’t get too excited about Fair City.”
The TV star said her eldest is now in college “studying wildlife biology”, while her youngest is still in fifth year.
She explained: “They’re very busy and they’re at the stage where they’re busy doing their own thing. They’re men now.”
Tina also said she “pulled back a lot from work” when her boys were young as her husband’s hours are “insane” when he’s away on location.
She explained: “His contracts are very long as a location manager. I’ve got nannies in the past, but they cost a lot and you still have a worry that they’re not going to show up.
“A live-in nanny was never on my agenda. I wouldn’t want that. I rear my children as much as I can.”
The actress revealed she left Fair City back in 2021 due to “family commitments”, but added that “they’ve now eased off”.
Tina said: “RTE knew that I was available and when they saw the possibility of a storyline they gave my agent a call and asked me to come back. So here I am.”
She admitted it was a tough call at the time but it was a no-brainer when she was asked to return.
TV RETURN
“Yeah, but at the same time I’ve always been a bit of a home bird. My priority was sorting out things back there. I’ve always made those sorts of decisions, but it was still hard to leave Fair City.”
In the episode that marked her return, Sash was startled to find Ger in her living room searching for a lost locket.
Sash informed her she had given it to Sharon. After an evening of wine and conversation, Sharon and Liam shared a dance and a kiss.
Their moment was interrupted by Ger, who barged in demanding the locket.
Ger shamed Sharon for being with Liam reigniting tensions from their past.
