The pretty Poplin Midi Dress boasts a heart style bodice, skinny straps and a full midi skirt.

Dunnes Stores designers said the guna is a “unique piece” for any wardrobe.

They said: “Designed with a contemporary edge, this dress from Savida features a denim, corset-style bodice, and is finished with a lightweight poplin skirt that falls to a midi length.

“It is a unique piece that can be dressed up or down to suit any occasion.”

The stunning denim dress comes in a cool khaki green.

Retailing at €40, it’s a piece you will keep reaching for from summer BBQs to special occasions.

The retailer styled the dress with white strappy heels.

Shoppers can choose from sizes XXS to XXL but popular sizes are selling out fast.

Size XS has been snapped up on the website already.

Meanwhile, shoppers can’t get enough of a new summer maxi dress that’s landed in Dunnes Stores.

An Irish style lover took to social media to share a look at the new must-have item.

Gina, who posts under the username @accessoryfairy on Instagram, shared a clip showing off her fabulous find at Dunnes Stores.

The stunning Gallery Sylvie Crochet Tiered Midi Dress is only €40 – and it comes in a beautiful baby blue colour.

Dunnes Stores designers branded the dress as “ultra-feminine”, featuring a delicately crafted crochet bodice adorned with intricate floral motifs.

The tiered skirt is made from softly shirred fabric, which creates a romantic silhouette.

Gina said: “So I know this one is not going to be for everybody but I do think it’s so much nicer on than it is on the hanger or on the website.

“I adore this colour and the quality of this is absolutely beautiful. It’s fully lined up and it just feels so good on.”

Gina pointed out that the dress may be too long for some people, but wearing smaller heels or flats may work out.

She added: “It just feels amazing on. I love how it moves when you walk, I don’t want to take it off. I absolutely love it.”

THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES

DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 – and it was an instant hit.

Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland’s first ‘shopping frenzy’.

During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne’s ‘Better Value’ bargains.

Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 – starting with apples and oranges.

The retailer said: “Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.

“Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong.

“Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas.”

The retailer’s first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.

They added: “In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed.

“Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England.”

Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.
