Doechii Joins Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria to Support Protesters and Criticize Donald Trump in LA Riots

President Donald Trump has pledged to deport all the illegal immigrants residing in the country and lock down the U.S.-Mexico border. The White House even set a goal for ICE to arrest at least 3,000 migrants per day. However, in their attempt to sweep out the illegal immigrants, several citizens who have been legally residing in the country with permanent residence got caught up in the chaos.

This whole situation sparked protests on the streets of Los Angeles, leading Donald Trump to deploy 2000 National Guard members, and 700 Marines to help respond to the protests. Meanwhile, several celebrities, including the Florida rapper Doechii, and actresses like Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria, went public, in support of protesters.

The 2025 BET Awards had music, glam, and star power—but it also had a powerful message. Florida rapper Doechii, who’s been riding high since dropping her viral mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal, used her moment in the spotlight to address something way bigger than trophies. Instead of thanking a long list of people or gushing about her success, she used her acceptance speech to speak directly about the ICE raids.

After winning Best Female Hip Hop Artist, Doechii went straight to the ICE raids happening just outside the venue in downtown Los Angeles. Instead of speaking diplomatically, the rapper openly criticized President Donald Trump’s use of force. As per Billboard, she later spoke about the responsibility she feels as an artist, to speak for people who are being silenced.

I do wanna address what’s happening right now outside of the building. There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order. Trump is using military force to stop a protest.

And I want y’all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us. People are being swept up and torn from their families, and I feel it’s my responsibility as an artist to use this moment to speak up for all oppressed people.

As the crowd roared to Doechii’s speech, the Florida rapper went on to address the “Black people, Latino people, trans people, people in Gaza” and every minority group that has been subjugated and forced to live in fear. The artist then ended her rally cry with the hope that people stand together in such a crisis, and keep protesting against hate. Doechii made it clear that art and activism can—and should—go hand in hand.

Jessica Alba and Hollywood’s loud rebellion against Donald Trump

Turns out, Doechii may have led the charge from the stage, but outside the arena, Hollywood was already fired up. As the streets of Los Angeles filled with people protesting Donald Trump’s aggressive ICE raids, celebs weren’t watching from the sidelines—they were right in the middle of it.

From Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria to businesswoman and actress Jessica Alba, many stars hit the pavement—or the post button—to show their support. The team of celebs also included Tyler the Creator, Finneas, The Game, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, Kehlani, Tom Morello, Reneé Rapp, and Rebecca Black voicing their frustrations.

As per TMZ, Jessica Alba and Rosario Dawson were spotted handing out “know your rights” pamphlets to protesters, making sure people knew how to protect themselves during raids. Meanwhile, Hilary Duff, Nina Dobrev, and Sophia Bush turned their Instagram feeds into full-on resistance boards, posting messages of solidarity and outrage.

Further, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong posted a protest clip soundtracked by the band’s own rebellious anthem “F— Off,” with a not-so-subtle combo of a middle finger and ice cube emoji. The Game showed love to the Black and Brown communities of L.A., posting, “I stand with y’all like I know you’d stand with us.”

Meanwhile, as per Billboard, Kehlani called it what it is: “Stop calling what’s happening L.A. riots. It’s RESISTANCE.” Even singer-songwriter Finneas shared that he got tear-gassed at a peaceful protest, calling out the authorities for “inciting” violence. He also reposted footage of reporter Lauren Tomasi getting hit by a rubber bullet while reporting live.

It seems the celebs are done playing nice or dropping neutral statements. This time Hollywood is burning brighter than ever, sending out a loud and clear message—this isn’t politics as usual, it’s a fight for human rights.
