Controversial ‘Bachelorette’ Alum Dale Moss Reveals the Biggest Difference Viewers Will See in Him on ‘BiP’

Back in 2020, Bachelor Nation was in shock when The Bachelorette Clare Crawley fell in love at first sight with one of her contestants, Dale Moss. And while Moss reciprocated those feelings and ended up proposing to her by week 4, the two didn’t work out in the long run and split for good by September 2021. And now, he’s officially one of the lucky guests on Bachelor in Paradise this summer.

Speaking to Us Weekly about his return to reality TV, Moss explained how he’s changed since the last time he graced our screens.

“I think the biggest thing now is that I feel really clear about what I want,” Moss told the outlet. “It is definitely going to be a different approach, and I think the framework in the setup of the show is a lot different.”

Most of all, it seems Moss doesn’t want to get swept away in emotion and be impulsive like he did on The Bachelorette.

“I’ve realized that it takes time to really get to know somebody, and you find out a lot when you step off a show,” he admitted. “And I think things don’t have to be rushed. I’ve learned a lot on just how I approach relationships and you got to take your time to fight out what’s right.”

Plus, having both female and male contestants allows for less rivalry between the guys, and less “insecurities” to bubble up to the surface.

“Previously, I know that [I had] a lot of insecurities that most men have, too — they want to be a caretaker. They want to heal all these problems,” he said. “In this one, that’s still there a little bit, but I do know that it’s important for both people to have their needs met and I just have the boundaries on. It’s going to be different.”

He also revealed why he chose to join in the first place. After all, it’s been a few years since Crawley’s headline-making season.

“I wanted to give up control and just see what was out there,” he said. “I’m really head down with travel and work and projects and things like that, but I definitely realized that there’s more out there and sometimes you have to remove yourself from certain situations to get more clarity on that.”

Crawley, for her part, married her husband Ryan Dawkins in February 2023. They welcomed their first daughter, Rowen Lily, in January 2024 via surrogate.

The new season of Bachelor in Paradise, which will be taking place in Costa Rica this year, premieres next month on July 7. We can’t wait!
