When it comes to iconic bromances in Hollywood, Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan are basically the Marvel version of Chandler and Joey. From throwing playful shade in interviews to showing up for each other, their friendship is the real deal. And now? Evans is finally down to take his friendship to Broadway!
Yup, our Captain America finally addressed Sebastian Stan’s offer for a theater play. During a hilarious moment on Josh Horowitz’s show, Chris Evans spilled how Stan keeps name-dropping him in interviews but goes MIA when it’s actually time to pick a script. Come on, Stan, your stage soulmate is waiting—assemble already!
Chris Evans accepted Sebastian Stan’s offer for a stage play

It finally happened—Chris Evans has officially said yes to doing a stage play with his on-screen ride-or-die, Sebastian Stan. While promoting his new film Materialists alongside Dakota Johnson on Josh Horowitz’s MTV show, Evans finally addressed (that too publicly) Stan’s offer for a play. He didn’t shy away from the juicy question.
Josh Horowitz recalled how Sebastian Stan previously told him about his desire to appear in a stage play with Chris Evans. The host then asked Evans whether and when he would team up with Stan for a theater production. In response, the Captain America actor said a big fat yes and mentioned that he’s totally down and just waiting for Stan to stop ghosting him.
He can say that all day, but then when I really call him on it, I’m like, all right, let’s do it, which one? He’s like, well, you know, I’m a little busy. I’m like, Seb, stop using me in press, because I’m ready to get on stage with you. But, I mean, he’s a busy guy.
I would love to get on stage. I’m dying to get on stage, specifically with him… I love Seb. I love working with him. And, you know, theater is such a massive commitment. You’re with the person all day, every day. So I kill to do it.
Chris Evans seemed genuinely excited about doing theater with Sebastian Stan. He added that he’s been dying to get on stage, and if he had to be stuck with someone all day, every day, it’d totally be Bucky. Meanwhile, as Dakota Johnson jokingly asked why Evans is so eager to spend all day with Stan, he replied without missing a beat—“Who doesn’t?”
Sebastian Stan name dropped Captain America during interview

Turns out, before Chris Evans even said yes, Sebastian Stan had already gone full fangirl trying to manifest their theater debut. Appearing on Josh Horowitz’s show earlier, Stan went on a mission to make their stage play happen. He begged, pleaded, and even told fans to annoy the living daylights out of Evans until he gave in.
Sebastian Stan got real about wanting to do a play together and even tossed out suggestions. Coming up with the idea of Speed-the-Plow, a fast-paced, two-man drama that he believes would be perfect for them, Stan mentioned that he had been hoping for Chris Evans to address his idea and maybe read it for once.
I keep trying. I keep trying to get Chris Evans. I want to do Speed-the-Plow with Chris Evans but I would do True West with Chris Evans. Look here’s the thing if anybody’s watching this and you want to see Chris Evans and myself on stage I want [you to] just bother him, text him, DM him, I don’t know whatever… make posters and send to him.
I’m trying to get him, I’m trying to get it. I’m making it public right now. Chris, we’re going we can do this. But, I feel like Speed-the-Plow could be interesting. I think he would love that one so I keep… I’m hoping maybe he’ll read.
Well, now that Chris Evans has publicly agreed, it feels like the ball’s in Sebastian Stan’s court. The fans, along with Josh Horowitz, have done their part. Even Dakota Johnson did her part by calling out the bromance. Now all that’s left is for Stan to drop the busy schedule, grab a script, sit with Evans, and prepare to take the stage.
