Chelsea transfer for AC Milan’s Mike Maignan OFF as Blues accelerate talks for £30million-rated England wonderkid
CHELSEA have halted talks over a deal to sign Mike Maignan but will continue pursuing Jamie Gittens.
The Blues had hoped to land both in time for the Club World Cup, which starts next week, but deals will not be agreed in time.

A new, short-term, transfer window to allow signing’s ahead of the tournament closes at 7pm TODAY.
The usual summer transfer window opens on June 16.
Chelsea are not willing to meet AC Milan’s asking price of more than £20million for Maignan given he has just a year left on his deal.
Their latest proposal was for a fee of around £12m. Maignan has made his desire to move to Stamford Bridge clear, telling Milan he will not renew his deal.
Chelsea opened talks after being altered to Maignan’s desire to move, but refuse to budge on their valuation.

Their remains the chance that negotiations could pick up again later in the window if Milan’s asking price comes down.
Failing that, from January Chelsea could hold pre-contract talks over a free transfer next summer.
The possibility of Djordje Petrovic going the other way as part of a deal has been discussed.
Borussia Dortmund winger Gittens remains a key target on the wing.
Chelsea have seen a £30m approach for the 20-year-old winger knocked back by the German side, who could hold out for up to £50m.

Gittens is the number one target for Enzo Maresca on the left-wing after the decision was made to send Jadon Sancho back to Manchester United following his loan spell.
Chelsea had to pay a £5m fee to return the England man to Old Trafford.
The Blues will have new faces they can take to the Club World Cup, which begins next week.
They have already signed a new No9 in Liam Delap, who made a £30m move from Ipswich Town, while Mamadou Sarr and Dario Essugo have both arrived from Strasbourg and Sporting Lisbon respectively.
Teen sensation Willian Estevao will complete his much anticipated move from Palmeiras following the Club World Cup.

I paid £200 for a filthy static caravan & made it my dream home – I even have a walk-in wardrobe
PAYING rent or buying a house can be a huge expense these days – but one woman shared how she bought a static caravan for £200.
While the tiny home needed a lot of work doing to it, Catherine shared how she was able to look past the dirty interior and turned it into their dream pad.

On her @catherineelizabethb, she shared incredible before and after photos of their affordable home.
She wrote: “A year of hard work and determination and we have our home.
“We’ve been actually living in here for half a year now and I love it so much.
“The best decision we’ve ever made.”
Catherine shared how her partner had found the property in October 2023 for £200 and were lucky enough to use family land to house it.
She showed how the interior was “filthy and had not been looked after.”
However, it did not put them off and they set about transforming it into a cosy pad.
This included adding a new wooden floor, a rug and new curtains into the lounge.
They also added a log burner for warmth which they “loved” during winter.
The savvy couple also gave the kitchen a facelift, and changed the old wooden cabinets and white countertop for cream units and a wooden top.
Thankfully they didn’t need to replace the oven, which saved them some cash.
They then decided to transform one of the twin bedrooms into a bathroom to give them more space and said the last room had been “too small.”
Catherine then turned the old bathroom into a stylish walk-in wardrobe.
A year after they bought the caravan they were able to move into their new chic space, with the entire renovation not costing a fortune.

Catherine shared: “I don’t have an extra number but I reckon a couple of thousand.
“We got as much second hand as possible and luckily had friends/family who got us stuff for cheaper.”
Thousands of people have liked their video, with one saying: “You’ve done an amazing job, it’s gorgeous.”
A second commented: “How you added so much character to a caravan is beyond me!
“Absolutely incredible job. What a lovely home you’ve made.”
According to the Office for National Statistics, in 2021 there were 104,000 households in England & Wales living in caravans or temporary structures.
This was an increase of 19,000 over the previous decade.
Meanwhile, the average UK house price in 2024 was roughly between £268,000 and £290,000.

First Love Island feud kicks off as Shakira flirts with ALL of the boys – leaving islander fuming
LOVE Island’s Shakira Khan is wasting no time in cracking on with all the villa lads after being left single during the opening episode.
Tonight’s ITV2 instalment sees the Manchester beauty, who was left unattached when Toni, 24 – the first ever bombshell arrival from the United States – stole her man Ben, 23, graft with all her male housemates.

Shakira, 22, who who was told by Love Island anchor Maya Jama, 30, she would be dumped tonight if one of the single hunks didn’t choose her, will ruffle feathers with her antics.
She dishes out the compliments, branding one of the Love Island 2025 line-up a “minx” before praising another’s “good vibe.”
The show’s six couples with Shakira single are now Toni and Ben, Meg and Dejon, Sophie and Harry, Helena and Conor, Alima and Blu, and Megan and Tommy.
The action kicks off tonight when Shakira pulls Dejon – who is coupled up with Meg – for a chat first.
Meg then tells the girls: “I don’t have my man, Dejon’s gone – that’s it!”
Meanwhile, Shakira tells Dejon: “That was a lot, it was intense, I was trying not to shake like a leaf.”
She adds: “I’ve got a busy day ahead of me by the looks of it!”
Later, Dejon and Meg head to the Terrace, with Dejon keen to reassure Meg.
He tells her: “You haven’t got anything to worry about, you’re my favourite, one thing about me is I’ll always be honest with my feelings.”
Yet fans previously claimed they were convinced Meg isn’t attracted to Dejon “at all” as the first show twist played out.
Toni can then be seen giving Shakira a bit of a pep talk before her day of grafting, as the model confesses she is in interested in “Everyone!”
Shakira then wastes no time and asks Harry for a chat on the terrace and things quickly turn flirty.
Shakira teases: “Haza you little minx!”
Harry then replies: “It’s day two come on let’s keep it PG.”
Putting the effort in to find a new connection, Shakira then pulls Conor for a chat and he tells her: “You surprised me, you came in with massive energy, but I feel like you’re not like that, you’re chill and smart.”
Shakira admits: “I love the Irish accent, it’s sexy! I’ve never dated an Irish guy.”
She also catches up with Blu telling him “I think it’s good cause it gives everyone a kick up the bum…I think you’ve got a good vibe…you’re very calming and I don’t have to put on a bravado.”
Their flirty banter came after have fans had called for the lad to be kicked out – and his partner saved.
Shakira’s effort doesn’t stop there as she also pulls Tommy by the pool telling him: “I think it’s best I try to get to know everyone.”
MEGAN’S WORRY
Irish beauty Megan watches their chat from the sidelines as Shakira and Tommy are talking.
Meg, Helena and Dejon tell her not to sit back, with Helena saying: “Claim your man!”
Megan adds: “I think I need to lipse him”
Dejon adds: “Go do it now!”
Megan decides to go for it, interrupting the chat to ask Tommy for a chat. They head to the terrace, where Megan admits: “That made me a little bit jealous.”
MAYA’S ENTRY
Last night, host Maya suggested that the girls keep their “boys very close”.
Tonight, she will make her dramatic return to the Villa, telling the Islanders: “Your 24 hours are up, please meet me by the Firepit.”
At the Firepit Maya continues: “I gave you 24 hours to find a connection with one of the other boys or risk being dumped from the Island tonight, but have you done enough?”
“Boys, do you wanna play it safe and stick with your current partner or take the risk and recouple with Shakira?”
She then announces “Ok guys, if you feel you have a stronger connection with Shakira than your current couple, then please stand up…”
As the girls watch on nervously, will any of the boys go for it and stand up for Shakira…or will it be Shakira herself packing up her suitcase?
For all the latest on Love Island keep up to date with our live blog.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

Man Utd stars to make Soccer Aid history as record number of Old Trafford legends sign up for huge celebrity match
MANCHESTER UNITED are making history once again, by having a record number of former stars playing in Soccer Aid.
This year, Soccer Aid is being hosted at Old Trafford, where reigning champions England will take on the Soccer Aid World XI in the globe’s biggest charity match.

But it will feel like a homecoming for many of the top stars on the billing following their careers, which saw them playing at the Red Devils’ home for many years.
As many as NINE former Man Utd players have signed up for the event across both teams, not to mention the fans of the club also gearing up to play.
The ex-pros include many stars who have tried their hand at coaching and management, such as Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick, and others who are now household names in punditry, like Gary Neville or Paul Scholes.
That quartet will be lining up for team England, with Rooney also in the managerial dugout.
Meanwhile, the World XI will have their own share of Man Utd greats in their ranks.
Edwin van der Sar, Nemanja Vidic, John O’Shea, and Carlos Tevez will all be taking to the pitch, while legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel will be barking orders from the sideline as the team manager.
The ex-stars will also be joined by a sizeable contingent of celebrity Man Utd fans.
Among them will be businessman Steven Bartlett, content creators AngryGinge and TBJZL, boxer Tyson Fury, musicians Nick Byrne and Dermot Kennedy, ex-rugby star Bryan Habana and actor Noah Beck.

Despite this large contingent of Man Utd support, there will be a notable absence of super fan Usain Bolt.
While appearing in Soccer Aid last year, the legendary Olympic sprinter ruptured his Achilles and was stretchered off the field.
Soccer Aid 2024 broke records as it raised over £15million for Unicef, while it has raised more than £100m since it was founded by Robbie Williams in 2006.
The match will be available to watch for free on ITV1, ITVX and STV on June 15, kicking off at 7.30pm BST.

Four hikers with ‘onset hypothermic’ symptoms rescued from popular Irish beauty spot in major op amid weather danger
FOUR hikers were yesterday rescued from one of Ireland’s most famous outdoor areas in a major mountain rescue operation.
The hikers had become disoriented while climbing Benbulbin in Co Sligo.
Gardai tasked the Sligo/Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team with assisting the group.
The Coast Guard helicopter 118 was also deployed to the scene, although it could not reach the location because of poor visibility.
But it was used to transport multiple mountain rescue responders from the Cashelgerron road to Luke’s Bridge as the weather took a turn.
While the helicopter remained below the cloud base for visibility, the rescuers continued the search on the ground.
They went on foot to the location of the hikers, which was near the mountain’s summit.
It is understood the hikers were not from Sligo and had travelled to the county earlier in the day.
They were rescued and assessed around 4pm.
All four of the rescued people were “deemed to have onset hypothermic symptoms”.
In response, an emergency shelter was set up by SLMR to get the walkers warmed up enough to walk down the mountain.
The group made their way down from the hill and were handed to the Coast Guard for further assessment.
The team stood down at 4.45pm.
The SLMR also urged people to take caution when exploring the countryside, especially in dangerous conditions.
They urged people to check the weather before heading out as “conditions can degenerate” faster in mountainous areas.
BE PREPARED
And they advised that hikers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear and make sure they have enough food and water.
A spokesperson said: “Mountain Rescue responders to set up an emergency shelter to get them warmed enough to be able to walk off the mountain.
“The team responders then escorted the casualties down the hill and handed them over to the waiting Coast Guard crew for further assessment and treatment.”
They added: “The team stood down at 4:45pm.”
Benbulbin is a popular spot among locals and tourists alike for walking and hiking.
It’s a steep, flat topped mountain in north Sligo and is part of the Dartry mountains.
The mountain is 1762 feet high and is a designated county geological site.
