The Cherries are close to agreeing a £20million deal for France international Truffert.

They see him as a replacement for Milos Kerkez, who is expected to join Liverpool.

Truffert has scored two goals and provided two assists in 33 Ligue 1 games this season.

But the 23-year-old has understandably struggled to get into France‘s star-studded squad.

The full-back has made just one appearances for the Les Bleus, after receiving his first call-up fir two Uefa Nations League matches.

The switches get more complicated when you consider that Bournemouth were interested in Anfield left-back Andy Robertson.

The Villa Park outfit may struggle to bring the 32-year-old Scot to the West Midlands, considering Arne Slot’s stance on an exit.

Unai Emery is believed to be in the market for a new left-back with Frenchman Lucas Digne and Ian Maatsen failing to impress the Spaniard.

She said: “We are in pretty big trouble.

“Russia has hardened as an adversary in ways that we probably hadn’t anticipated.”

Ms Hill said Moscow has been “menacing the UK in various different ways” for years, including ­poisonings and assassinations on British soil, ­carrying out cyber attacks and cutting sea cables.

In her grim alert, the Kremlin expert said: “Russia is at war with us.”

And she warned that Britain can no longer rely on US military might to protect itself from enemy states.

Ms Hill co-wrote the Strategic Defence Review, which warned the UK is facing its biggest threats since the Cold War — and set out plans to urgently build more bombs and guns to arm ourselves.

Her comments came as Russian missiles blitzed Kharkiv, killing three people and injuring at least 22, including a six-week-old baby and a 14-year-old girl.

The eastern Ukrainian city was struck by 48 drones, two missiles and five glider bombs as part of a huge, countrywide bombardment by Putin in retaliation for last week’s Spider Web attack on his nuclear bombers.

PM Sir Keir Starmer used an article in last week’s Sun on Sunday to deliver his starkest warning yet of the danger of war.

Putting the nation on a war footing, he said Britain must prepare to “sight and win” against our enemies.

A victim of a missile attack in Kharkiv[/caption]

A WOMAN was allegedly threatened with a knife and raped in a town park on Friday afternoon.

Police are currently appealing for witnesses after the woman reported the shocking attack in Kingsnorth Gardens in Folkestone, Kent.

A 52-year-old male suspect was arrested and taken into custody – and was then later charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place and possession of cocaine.

He has been bailed in regards to the alleged sexual assault and will appear before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Police say the victim suffered a facial injury in the alleged attack – with patrols attending the scene at the park.

In a statement released on Saturday, Kent Police said: “Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a report of a serious sexual assault in Folkestone.

“The incident happened in Kingsnorth Gardens at around 12.40pm on Friday 6 June 2025.

“A woman stated she had been approached by a man she knew in the park.

“She alleges she was then threatened with a weapon and raped.

“The victim also suffered a facial injury.

“Patrols attended the scene and an investigation was commenced.”

Cops are also urging residents with private CCTV and motorists with dashcam to check for relevant footage.

Having made her debut as loudmouth Eileen in 2000, her final scenes aired on Friday evening as she quit Weatherfield to move to Thailand alongside son Jason, played by Ryan.

Ryan made a special return to the show for a week of episodes after a 10-year absence in order to aid Sue’s exit.

Fellow actress Katy Cavanagh also reprised her role as Eileen’s sister Julie in the weeks leading up to her exit before being killed off.

Now, Ryan has taken to Instagram to share a video of the emotional moment that Sue wrapped on her final scenes inside the Grimshaw house.

In the clip, the crew behind the camera can be seen clapping Sue as she wrapped on her final take.

She embraced co-star Tony Maudsley, who played her now-ex George Shuttleworth,

Sue then hugged Ryan and fellow co-star Gareth Pierce before show boss Kate Brooks jumped in to deliver a speech.

Wheeling off a list of facts, Kate boomed: “Just to say, this wonderful woman has done 25 years on the street, 2444 episodes – which is a lot.

“I think there has been 15 slaps, nine of them as Jason and bust-ups with Gail so quite an eventful 25 years – three proposals!”

Looking rather unsure, Kate then added: “I think you are the only character to come to Coronation Street and stay at number 11.”

Ryan went on to pen his own, more heartfelt tribute over the top of the video, as he wrote: “it has been an honour to watch, act & learn alongside you one last time.

“Can’t wait to watch you shine in your next chapter.

“Love you always.”

The Sun exclusively revealed in January that she had quit the show after 25 years on the Salford set to look for new acting opportunities.

“The door is still firmly open but as I reached my 60th year, I decided it was time to embrace change, look for new adventures and live fearlessly,” she explained.

One of Sue’s major next steps is to being a regular panellist on Loose Women after first appearing on the daytime panel show in 2023.

Sue took a break from Corrie last year to star in Sister Act The Musical as Mother Superior and appeared in reality show I’m A Celebrity in 2022.

Last year, Sue released her memoir A Work In Progress and revealed she was embracing being in her 60s.
