A TOTAL outsider has entered the running to be 007 as the Hollywood star lands a new James Bond voiceover job.
Speculation over who will replace Daniel Craig in the iconic role has been heating up for months but fans think they have worked it out.
IO Interactive in collaboration with Amazon eMGM Studios, have officially unveiled 007 First Light.
Which is a new, standalone, story-driven action-adventure game offering a fresh reimagining of James Bond’s origins.
It is set for release in 2026, and will be available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
And Patrick Gibson from Dexter: Original Sin has been cast as the voice of 007 in the new computer game.
Fans are therefore convinced he will go on to play Bond in the cinema.
Taking to social media one Bond fan said: “The new James Bond is 100% played by Patrick Gibson.
“He’s an Irish actor who I know as playing Dexter in Dexter: Original Sin.”
Another added: “Unless I’m mistaken, our new game Bond is being played by Patrick Gibson.
“Another Irish Bond in the bag, can’t argue with that!
“Also… the scar down the cheek from the books, FINALLY!!!”
A third exclaimed: “Patrick Gibson as James Bond?!? This is peak casting.”
“100% played by Patrick Gibson AKA Dexter Morgan,” added another.
Another fan said: ” So James Bond is definitely played by Patrick Gibson from Dexter Original Sin.”

007 First Light follows a young 26-year-old old Bond straight out of the Royal Navy, as he embarks on his origin story to earn his Double-O and the Licence to Kill that comes with it.
Irish actor, Patrick, 30, is best known for playing the young Dexter Morgan in Dexter: Original Sin but he has also featured in The Tudors, Shadow and Bone and the film Tolkien.
However, whether he will go on to play Bond in his cinematic role remains unknown still.
And many actors are in the running for the career making role.
Theo James’ name was thrown into the hat after he wowed fans in Netflix’s The Gentlemen last year.
His performance in the Guy Ritchie series made him an ideal candidate for the next actor to fill the shoes of 007.
Other names still in the running include Aaron Taylor-Johnson after it was revealed back in 2022 that the Brit had already “filmed a top-secret scene” at Pinewood Studios, Berkshire.
Famed for the Kick-Ass movie series and the Marvel movie Avengers: Age of Ultron, Aaron shot to fame playing John Lennon in Nowhere Boy.
The Sun previously exclusively revealed how Bond bosses had offered the job to Aaron.
And with his quintessential Englishman good looks, James Norton has been a hot contender for the next Bond for many years.
The chiselled star is known for playing the lead role of Sidney Chambers in Grantchester, and also evil Tommy Lee Royce in Happy Valley.
Also in the running is Jack Lowden, known for BBC gangster drama The Gold and the TV hit Slow Horses.

TAOISEACH Micheal Martin promised there would be an examination into how HIQA during failed to identify “very horrific and shocking behaviour towards elderly people in nursing homes”.
Shocking undercover footage broadcast by RTE Investigates this week showed residents crying for help, left in soiled clothes and being incorrectly handled.
The RTE Investigates programme uncovered a litany of care failings and neglect of vulnerable older residents at The Residence Portlaoise and Beneavin Manor in Glasnevin, north Dublin.
Both are run by Ireland’s top private nursing home provider Emeis Ireland, who have apologised for the failings.
Reacting to the disturbing footage, the Fianna Fail leader said it was absolutely unacceptable.
Speaking in Cork at Star of the Sea Primary School, which was celebrating it’s 25th anniversary, the Taoiseach said: “It illustrated in terms of the governance of those nursing homes, the ownership, a lack of a clear ethos and ethical framework in terms of respecting the dignity of every human being, of every person living in those nursing homes.
“We think of the families who had to watch that, who placed their loved ones in the care of those homes. It is quite shocking. It is not acceptable. HIQA are in there today.”
He also stressed that there are issues in terms of HIQA’s approach to the situation – especially as one of the nursing homes at the centre of the RTE doc showed a lack of compliance.
He said: “I think they will be examining that aspect of it in terms of the manners and methodology used to inspect, even though these are unannounced inspections, when they happen.
“I think we have to stand back and take a look at how in one case anyway the inspections did reveal a lack of compliance, in another, not so, and that needs to be examined as to how that came about and are there better ways of getting in under this to make sure that this does not happen again.
“There will have to be increased vigilance from the regulatory approach and that is something that government will be looking at”.
Amid the fallout from the explosive RTE show, the Health Information and Quality Authority confirmed this week that it had moved to halt admissions to The Residence Portlaoise.
The inspection body also revealed that a review of all nursing homes operated by the Emeis Ireland group was underway.
Minister Kieran O’Donnell held talks with HIQA to discuss issues raised in the RTE Investigates programme.
And he said he now expects HIQA and the Chief Inspector to use all their available powers to improve the situation.
Quizzed on the shocking doc footage, Taoiseach Martin dismissed suggestions that there was a lack of focus on the part of the government on the complex needs of elderly people.
He said: “There is a very clear focus. There is a multi-stranded approach to aging in this country.
“We are aging. We are one of the more younger populations in Europe but we are aging fast.
“So for example we have doubled expenditure on home care to well over €800 million.
“We do have private nursing homes and we have public nursing homes and public institutions which tend to deal with more acute patients.
“I spoke with the Minister O’Donnell, who was very much on this, and Health Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill as well, but there is a full look now at all homes under the ownership of this group.”
He added: “Our priority at this stage is those living in the nursing homes.”

A MUM has won an £11,000 payout from a Premier League star accused of helping his brother dodge child support payments for his young daughter, she claims.
Chelsea ace Tosin Adarabioyo allegedly funds older brother Fisayo’s extravagant lifestyle, paying for a £2.9million mansion, giving him a monthly income and a credit card to go shopping with.
The Sun snapped photos of flashy Fisayo, 30, a former pro-footballer, carrying a £3,140 Bottega Veneta leather briefcase.
But despite his millionaire lifestyle, Fisayo has yet to pay a penny towards his two-year-old daughter Anara’s upbringing after telling the Child Maintenance Service he’s skint, it is claimed.
Anara’s struggling mum Nadia Messaoud, 41, who dated Fisayo for a year before they split in 2022, said she was forced to take action after being ignored.
She took civil action against Chelsea defender Tosin for funding his brother while allegedly knowing of his sibling’s obligations.
Legal documents relating to the civil action, seen by The Sun, state: “The defendant (Tosin) has been knowingly providing his older brother, Fisayo Adarabioyo, with an income that is not being declared to HMRC or the child maintenance service.
“This is with the intention to obstruct my daughter’s legal right to obtain child maintenance.
“My child has for the last three years been awarded the nil level of CMS.”
Nadia also alleged that as well as thousands of pounds a month in cash income, Tosin also provides his brother with a credit card to spend on.
According to Land Registry documents, Tosin, 27, thought to be on £120,000 a week at Chelsea, owns the Cheshire mansion in which Fisayo lives.
The Department of Work and Pensions has awarded unemployed Fisayo a “nil rate” on child support for the past three years because he claims he does not earn enough to pay.
Nadia staged a protest outside Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge stadium last month to raise awareness around her cause.
She wore a vest top and held a sign both of which said: “TOSIN #4 Women Matter, Children Matter, D.A (Domestic Abuse) survivors matter.”
She is backed by domestic abuse charity Women’s Aid.
Fisayo was convicted of harassment without violence in 2022 after turning up at Nadia’s terraced home in Cheshire, banging on her door and leaving her terrified.
He also bombarded her with texts, saying he hoped she miscarried the baby and threatened to kill her.
After allegedly failing to respond to Nadia’s legal claim, his brother Tosin has been ordered by the court to pay her £11,000.
However, Tosin’s legal team told The Sun the order was a “default judgement” made in error “on the part of the court”.
Nadia said: “I’ve not received a penny from Fisayo to help with our daughter, while he’s living a footballer’s lifestyle thanks to his Chelsea playing brother.
“I’ve been rebuffed at every opportunity which is why I decided to take legal action against both of them.
“All I ever wanted was a reasonable level of financial support but Fisayo has claimed poverty. Now I know the truth.
“As a Premier League player Tosin is supposed to be a role model, but his actions have essentially blocked my daughter from receiving the financial support she’s entitled to by law.”
Tosin’s lawyers’ statement added: “The Order arises from a default judgement which has been entered by the Court in a claim issued by Nadia Messaoud against our client (‘the Claim’).
Unfortunately, it would appear that our client’s strike out application has not been properly processed by the Court and it has therefore allowed automatic default judgement to be entered in favour of Ms Messaoud.
“This is a very serious administrative failing on the Court’s part and one which we are addressing with the Court on our client’s behalf.
Inappropriately, she made an application for judgement in default, despite being served with that application.
“Your summary is not a fair and accurate report of anything that has taken place in the Court proceedings.”
They added that as well as “chasing” the court, they have also made an application on their client’s behalf “to have the default judgement order set aside”.
“In summary therefore, the Order which you have seen is subject to an active challenge, and should never
have been issued by the Court in the first place.”
They said the claim is a “pattern of behaviour” by Ms Messaoud “to exert unwanted pressure on our client to provide further funding to her”.
“Our client has no relationship with Ms Messaoud and owes no legal or other duties or obligations to her,” the statement adds.
The Sun has also contacted Fisayo’s lawyer and Chelsea for comment.
“CHINESE hackers” sent a terrifying message to the boss of Marks & Spencer following a crippling cyber-attack on the British retailer.
Fraudsters, believed to be from the hacking group DragonForce, are said to have emailed the company’s chief executive Stuart Machin and seven other key executives.
The message, written in broken English, was sent on April 23, indicated that M&S was hacked by the ransomware group, although the retailer has not acknowledged this.
“We have marched the ways from China all the way to the UK and have mercilessly raped your company and encrypted all the servers,’ the hackers wrote, according to the BBC.
“The dragon wants to speak to you so please head over to [our darknet website].”
The link to the darknet shared in the email led to a portal for victims of DragonForce to negotiate a ransom fee.
The hackers added: “Let’s get the party started. Message us, we will make this fast and easy for us.”
DragonForce’s attack during the Easter holiday has been hugely damaging for one of Britain’s best-known retailer and is thought to have cost the firm an estimated £300million.
After six weeks on from the attack, the retailer is still unable to process online orders.
The email was sent to Mr Machin along with seven other top executives, according to the corporation.
A racist term is also said to have been included in the blackmail message and also ended with an image of a fire-breathing dragon.
Along with installing ransomware in order to cripple M&S’s IT system the hackers are also believed to have stolen private data from millions of customers.
Three weeks on from the attack, M&S informed customers that contact details and dates of birth from some shoppers had been obtained by a suspected cyber cartel.
M&S also admitted other personal details, including customers’ order histories, had also been pilfered by online criminals.
Bosses though have stressed that no data relating to shoppers’ payment, card details or account passwords had been obtained.
It is unclear how many customers have been affected by the data breach.
According to the company’s full-year results, it had 9.4million active online customers in the year up to March 30.
The email apparently sent by DragonForce is thought to have bene sent using the account of an employee from IT company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which has provided IT services to the retailer for more than a decade.
The Indian IT worker, who is based in London, had an M&S email address but is paid employee of TCS.
It’s thought the worker was among the victims hacked.
The company had previously said it is investigating if it was a gateway for the cyber attack.
It has since informed the BBC the email was not sent from its system and had nothing to do with the security breach.
M&S has declined to comment on the latest revelations.
A spokesperson for the company told The Sun Online: “We cannot comment on details of or speculation on the cyber incident, and we have been advised not to.”
