Who is the top scorer in Soccer Aid history?

SOCCER AID is all about entertainment while raising money for charity – but celebrities thrive off hitting the back of the net and they’ll get the chance to do it once again on SUNDAY!

Premier League legends Teddy Sheringham and Alan Shearer have proved that they haven’t lost their touch by bagging their fair share of goals during Soccer Aid matches.

Ex-Tottenham trio Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov have also got on the score sheet on a couple of occasions themselves.

But shockingly, the top scorer in Soccer Aid is NOT a former professional footballer.

Who is the top scorer in Soccer Aid history?

Ex-Love Islander Kem Cetinay is the top goal scorer in Soccer Aid history.

Kem has bagged five goals in four Soccer Aid appearances after breaking the record in 2023.

Kem – who plays for the World XI – got his goal tally underway in 2019 in the 2-2 draw.

He scored again after the game went to penalties, but goals scored in a shootout do not count in the overall tally.

In 2020, Kem again blasted home a penalty in the shootout to hand victory to the World XI again.

In 2021, he scored twice in the 3-1 victory over England, and he added another goal in 2022, while again scoring from the spot during penalties.

In 2023, his 80th minute goal sealed a 4-2 win for the World XI, and took his tally to five.

The social media star’s mum confirmed the footie fan used to sleep in his football boots as a child, which explains his gifted technical ability.

Clarence Seedorf – four goals

Clarence Seedorf holds the record for the second-highest Soccer Aid scorer.

The Dutch footballer has hit the back of the net four times.

However, he is the only star to have bagged a hat-trick.

Seedorf achieved this during the 4-2 win over England in 2014.

He bagged his fourth goal for the World XI in 2018.

Twix ad BANNED from TV after being branded ‘dangerous’

AN ad for chocolate bar Twix that was branded ‘dangerous’ has been BANNED from TV.

The advertisement depicts a car chase between two identical caramel coloured vehicles – ending with one sandwiched on the other like a Twix.

A watchdog said the ad “must not appear again in its current form.”[/caption]

The advert featured two caramel coloured cars sandwiched together[/caption]

However, five complaints have been made against the clip, saying that it highlighted dangerous driving and was irresponsible.

Mars-Wrigley, who own the Twix brand, highlighted that the advert featured a “cinematic presentation”.

They continued by saying it took place in a “world that was absurd, fantastical and removed from reality”

This view was echoed by Clearcast, the non-governmental organisation that approves adverts prior to broadcast.

Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) ruled the ad “condoned unsafe driving” and “must not appear again” in its current iteration.

Although the ASA acknowledged the fantastical aspect of the ad, it stated the video’s first half showed driving “that appeared likely to breach the legal requirements of the Highway Code”.

The watchdog said there was an “emphasis on speed”, in addition to  “fast paced beat and music” in the car chase and “visible skid marks” left on the road.

Mars defended the advert, having said both cars were shot “driving at lawful speeds and any emulation would only reflect the legal and safe driving presented.”

The final scene showed a Twix bar falling through the sunroofs of the two still attached cars.

This was also accompanied by the tagline “two is more than one”.

Clearcast told the ASA that the advert’s style made it clear that it was not meant to be emulated, nor did it suggest “safe driving was boring”.

The ASA’s ruling concluded: “We told Mars Wrigley Confectionery UK Ltd not to condone or encourage irresponsible driving that was likely to breach the legal requirements of the Highway Code in their ads.”

It’s not the first time that a TV ad has been banned from screens.

TV architect George Clarke was paid by Scottish Power to star in their television advert.

It was taken off air by the Advertising Standards Agency for breaching their guidlines.

The watchdog said it misled viewers into thinking they were watching George’s Channel 4 hit Amazing Spaces.

The dynamic duo are renowned for their shared sense of humour both on and off screen.

Brian and Katja are no strangers to sharing their love for each other online and fans are obsessed with their friendship.

Taking to Instagram yesterday, Katja shared a hilarious snap of herself and Brian posing on set in the Virgin Media studio.

The 29-year-old and the Big Brother star both had their backs turned to the camera as they placed a hand on each others bums.

The popular presenters gave a dramatic smoulder as they turned their heads around.

Brian looked super smart in a pair of white denim jeans and a khaki long-sleeved shirt.

While Katja was a vision in figure hugging leather pants and a cropped mac jacket.

Katja penned in her caption: “Host(ess) with the mostest.”

And fans all flocked to the comment section to gush over the TV stars.

Brian’s husband, Arthur Gourounlian exclaimed: “@katja_miaa you watch too much Beyoncé choreographies.”

Conor said: “Screaming at this ahahah.”

Denise wrote: “Two cheeky posers.”

Aoife added: “Love, love, love watching you two together.”

While Brian gushed: “I ADORE working with you!!!! You make it FUN!!!!!”

And Serena remarked: “Obsessed with you two!”

The hosts recently reunited after Brian spent a few days away from the show to film a reality series in the UK.

HOST BANTER

During the week, Katja posted a hilarious video of herself and The Six O’Clock Show producers saying: “Brian who?”, before she went live on air.

The Dublin beauty even went as far as to re-name the series, “The Katja Mia Show”.

So, as Brian made his big return, Katja was quick to put him back in his place.

The 29-year-old took to Instagram to share a clip of herself and Brian, she sarcastically remarked: “Hi guys I’m here on Six, we have a guest co-host this evening.”

Brian’s face immediately dropped as he heard the words “guest co-host”.

REUNITED AT LAST

He then cut across Katja and exclaimed: “Look who’s back!”

Katja continued with her mocking as she added: “Ah I’m just so buzzing, we’ve never really worked together and he has come on to the Katja Mia show for some work experience.”

Brian immediately burst out laughing as he agreed: “Oh yes, for some work experience.”

The dynamic duo then dropped their sarcasm and embraced each other in a warm hug, delighted to be reunited.

Muhammad Ali would still tease George Foreman about Rumble in the Jungle 40 years on after they became best friends

MUHAMMAD ALI would still tease George Foreman about their Rumble in the Jungle 40 years on – after the pair became inseparable.

Ali famously defeated Foreman in Zaire – now the Democratic Republic of the Congo – in 1974 with over ONE BILLION viewers watching worldwide.

The two became close friends in later years[/caption]

And he did so using his famous rope-a-dope tactic – allowing Foreman to punch himself out before winning in round eight.

The build-up was bitter and the rivalry carried on post-fight to lead to what was an expected rematch.

But after Foreman claimed to have died in his dressing room after losing to Jimmy Young in 1976 – he found God and retired.

It also paved the way for Foreman to form a brotherhood with Ali – up until the boxing great’s death in 2016.

Ali’s grandson, MMA star Biaggio, told SunSport: “My grandpa and George, they were very, very close. They spoke all the time.

“The only memory I have with George myself was from my grandfather’s 70th birthday party.

“We met George there, I was 12 years old and even at 12 years old, I knew who George Foreman was.

“I had seen the fight with him and Poppy and I was like, ‘Oh, George Foreman, nice to meet you.’

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS

“He was such a nice guy, like super humble, down to earth and of just a very successful businessman at that point too.

“So, really, that’s like the only memory I have from George, but I do know that him and my grandfather, they were really close.”

Ali retired in 1981 after 61 fights and three heavyweight title reigns – but he was sadly diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease three years later.

Although that did not stop the quick-witted sports great from throwing verbal jabs to his rival-turned-friend Foreman.

Biaggio, 26, revealed: “Poppy was a jokester, man. Like he would always joke about certain things.

“It’s crazy when I would visit him in Arizona and he’d be sitting on his like reclining chair, I would shake his hand and in my head, I’d be thinking, ‘This hand knocked out George Foreman in Africa.’

“Certain things like that I would reminisce in my head and then at the same time I’m like, ‘But you’re just my grandpa.’ It was a very strange feeling my whole life really.

“But yeah, they definitely had some banter, you know, Poppy was a jokester, he’s always joking.”

Foreman made a comeback in 1987 after ten years out and became the oldest heavyweight champion of all time aged 46.

I would visit him in Arizona and he’d be sitting on his like reclining chair, I would shake his hand and in my head, I’d be thinking, ‘This hand knocked out George Foreman in Africa.’

Biaggio Ali Walsh

But the multimillionaire businessman – who made over £150million through his cooking grills – died in March at 76.

Ali meanwhile passed nearly ten years prior but Biaggio – an unbeaten MMA fighter and brother Nico a professional boxer – continue on the legacy.

Middleweight Nico has 12 wins, two losses and one no-contest in his 15 boxing bouts while Biaggio – a former American football prospect – is 2-0 in the cage.

Biaggio – signed to the Professional Fighters League – returns on June 27 in Chicago – but wants to compete all over the world – like his grandfather before him.

He said: “I wanna just fight. So, anywhere it is, that’d be great.

“And I think it’s cool too, you get to travel and get to see a lot of new places and stuff. I’d never been to Saudi Arabia before until I fought there.

“That’s what’s so cool about this job, you get to travel and see new places and destinations, places you never been to.

“All are possibilities, especially with the PFL, man, I love the PFL.”

Popular laxatives found to contain WRONG dose instruction – and children could be at risk

PARENTS are being warned after popular laxatives were found with potentially dangerous, incorrect dosing instructions.

Boxes of Dulcolax, which should only be taken by adults, wrongly suggest they’re suitable for kids aged 12 and over.

Dulcolax Adult 5mg gastro-resistant tablets for occasional constipation.
Dulcolax
Dulcolax Adult 5mg gastro-resistant tablets have been hit by a labelling error.[/caption]

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), which issued the alert, said the labelling blunder is not “expected” to cause harm.

“Based on the safety assessment, it was concluded that there is no harm expected to children who may have taken this medication,” the watchdog said.

The tablets themselves are safe. But the instructions could lead to kids taking them without proper advice.

Dulcolax Adult 5mg gastro-resistant tablets contain 5mg of bisacodyl – a common over-the-counter constipation treatment.

There’s a separate version called Dulcolax Twelve Plus for kids aged 12 and over.

It has the same 5mg dose as the adult tablets. But it’s only available from a pharmacist, who can give advice on the right way to use it for children.

That’s because their bodies handle medicine differently, and experts make sure it’s safe and used right.

It stops kids taking too much or using laxatives when they shouldn’t.

Dulcolax Adult 5mg gastro-resistant tablets are available over-the-counter, meaning any adult can buy them without a prescription or pharmacist advice.

The batch codes to look out for are 240908, 240909, 241873, 241875, 250222, 250307, and 250308. You can find these numbers on the packaging.

The affected batches have an expiry date of the 30 and 31 of May 2027 and were distributed this year.

“Adult patients should continue to take medicines from the impacted batches,” the MHRA wrote, in the alert published yesterday (June 10).

The quality of the product is not affected which is why the products are not being recalled and will remain to be available for sale.

“There is an error on the back of the carton, this product is only intended for use by adults (18 years and over) and should not be used in children (under the age of 18).”

Some boxes have already been distributed to pharmacies and shops, but future stock will only be sent to pharmacies and healthcare stores until the packaging is corrected.

Adults are advised to keep taking the tablets as normal, following the leaflet inside the pack – which contains the correct instructions.

People who experience adverse reactions or have any questions about their medication should seek medical attention.

Any suspected adverse reactions should also be reported via the MHRA Yellow Card scheme,” the alert said.

Normal for you

When it comes to going for a number two, plenty of people aren’t really sure what’s normal.

Keeping an eye on what’s ‘normal’ for you though is crucial, as is being aware of the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer.

The five red-flag symptoms of bowel cancer include:

  • Bleeding from the back passage, or blood in your poo
  • A change in your normal toilet habits – going more frequently for example
  • Pain or a lump in your tummy
  • Extreme tiredness
  • Losing weight

If you notice any changes to your usual habits, don’t be embarrassed, speak to your GP.

And if you are eligible for a bowel cancer testing kit, make sure to do on.

The Sun launched the No Time 2 Lose campaign in April 2018 – to call on the Government to lower the bowel cancer screening age to 50 and raise symptom awareness.

As a result, people in their 50s have started being invited for screenings.

Major warning for Irish tourists as Spain battered by 30mm of rain in horror storms AND ‘intensely hot’ 37C temperatures

A MAJOR warning has been issued for Irish holidaymakers in Spain as a heatwave and stormy conditions are set to hit at the same time.

Depending on where you’re visiting in the holiday hotspot you could be seeking shelter from torrential downpours or scorching heat.

Screenshot of a weather forecast website showing a map of Spain with highlighted regions.

The vast majority of Spain is under an alert[/caption]

Temperatures are at dangerous highs[/caption]

Aemet have issued a series of weather warning across mainland Spain, with both yellow and orange alerts in place.

And the warnings cover heavy rain and wind and then extreme temperatures.

A few areas around the coast have escaped without being placed under an alert but most regions are facing a turbulent few days of weather.

Warnings are in place into the weekend, with the majority of the country facing storm havoc.

The middle of Spain is most at risk from these stormy downpours, with orange warnings in place and 30mm of rain expected in areas.

The rest of the regions under a yellow alert can still expect around 15mm of rain amid the storm.

This will begin to ease overnight with the vast majority of warnings for rainfall and thunder lifted by tomorrow.

However, a few key regions just above Madrid will remain under a yellow alert tomorrow.

Key tourist areas set to be impacted include Andalucía and Madrid.

Issuing a warning over the storms Aemet said: “They can come with heavy showers, large hail and very strong gusts of wind.”

Thunderstorms will begin to develop across Spain from today.

Posting on social media Aemet warned: “Wednesday will be marked by the formation of thunderstorms.

“They could be very strong and accompanied by large hail and strong gusts of wind, especially in areas of Castile and León and Galicia, with the possibility of storms occurring in other parts of the central and northern peninsula.”

TEMPERATURE WARNING

On the east of the peninsula several regions remain under a severe temperature alert with mercury nearly at 40C in several areas.

Temperatures are set to reach a whopping 37C in parts today and will continue at a scorching 36C into the weekend.

And those temperatures will soar in key tourist spots such as Barcelona, Girona and Zaragoza.

Aemet warned: “Temperatures will be more typical of July.

“Today and tomorrow will be intensely hot, with highs above 36°C in the central and inland-southern parts of the Iberian Peninsula and the Ebro Valley.

“Highs are also expected in the Ebro Valley on Wednesday.”

‘ADVERSELY AFFECT TRAVEL PLANS’

The advice from the Department of Foreign affairs for Irish citizens is to make sure you’re monitoring the conditions before you jet off.

On the DFA website they warn: “Spain can at times experience extreme weather conditions which can adversely affect travel plans.

You can monitor information and alerts, including severe weather warnings, on the website of the Spanish Meteorological Agency, AEMET.

Citizens are advised to check the latest weather information before they travel and to follow the advice of the local authorities.

The pair met last autumn while filming season two of the E4 dating show, Love Triangle.

Chelsea and James were the couple no one had expected as they weren’t matched together initially but found a spark after meeting during a retreat on the show – which caused controversy.

The Louth native found out she was pregnant on the same night that the first episode of Love Triangle was aired, on March 10, 2025.

The influencer threw a gender reveal party at home with her family and close friends over the weekend.

Chelsea was glowing wearing white trousers, a white plain tank top and white sandals.

She was surrounded by her loved ones watching her as she stood in the room with a black balloon that said “Boy or girl?”, on it.

Chelsea braced herself as she popping the balloon and pink confetti fell out – which revealed she’s having a girl.

The model fell to the floor in floods of tears before her family ran over to embrace her.

Chelsea said it was the “most beautiful” day full of “amazing surprises”.

And while she wasn’t planning on sharing the gender online, Chelsea changed her mind after letting it slip “too many times”.

She shared the sweet video on Instagram and captioned it: “Dreams really do come true.

“The most loved little one already, our adventure is only beginning.”

Chelsea added: “I still can’t stop crying. A little princess to love and protect forever.”

FAN SUPPORT

The Irish star’s friends and fans were all delighted for her as they flooded the comment section with congratulations.

Love Triangle star Ryan Ruckledge wrote: “Omg this is amazing you’ll be the best mum ever, congratulations.”

Caroline commented: “This is amazing!! So happy for you Chelsea, huge congrats.”

Chloe said: “What a lucky little one to have such an amazing mammy.”

Lois remarked: “Ok now I’m crying again!! I’m so happy for you, luckiest girl in the world.”
