And Joe McCarthy is looking forward to getting a chance to end the four-year wait for the URC title.

He told RTE: “Definitely needed that.

“It is our first URC final so it is massive for us.

“We need fans behind us now. We are into Croke Park so it is exactly where we want to be.

“There is always pressure.

“We have never reached a URC final, disappointment this year already so we want to finish strong want the fans backing the side.

“I think the fans were great today. We need more of that next week.”

McCarthy could not resist aiming a dig at critics of the province when asked by Jamie Heaslip what the team’s motivation was.

He said: “We know everyone loves to hate Leinster. That definitely drives us on.

“We have a great fanbase and don’t really care about the outside noise – what you guys say, what other fans say.”

Their semi-final win over Glasgow was played in front of 15,762 people at the Aviva Stadium– a slight improvement on the 12,879 that attended their quarter-final win over Scarlets last weekend.

There is sure to be a bigger attendance at Croke Park for the final against the Bulls on June 14.

And the Ireland international deemed the occasion as the stuff of dreams.

He beamed: “It is unbelievable.

“To play in Croke Park in a URC final is the stuff you dream of as a kid. It is why you play the game.

“We want a huge crowd out at the game.

“It will be a great day hopefully and we will rip into this week.”

Posting a video to Instagram from the reception, he wrote in his caption: “Congratulations to the beautiful Bride, My dear friend @meganmckenna who got married to the lovely @oliverjburke yesterday.

“I can’t tell you how much it meant to me, That you wanted me there on your special Wedding day.

“We danced together just like old times in Nu Bar Loughton when we were kids.

“We always supported each other in those TOWIE days & remained friends ever since.

“You’ve blossomed into an amazing woman. You’re a fantastic mum & you’re going to make a great wife!

“And your a much better singer than me haha. Love ya.”

Mark Wright’s mum Carl, 64, then threw her support behind James, writing: “Love this. Xxx.”

She also posted a series of love hearts and clapping hands.

The straight-talking mum of Towie royalty, Mark and Jess was a key player in Essex for over 150 episodes and never held back when it came to offering advice to her kids.

Carol joined Towie in 2011 during its second series, where Mark and his then-girlfriend Lauren Goodger were central to the show’s main storyline.

She recently shared a sweet tribute to a new granddaughter as Michelle Keegan gave birth to a baby girl.

The post comes shortly after beauty queen Nicoline Artusson, 32, released a bombshell statement revealing shocking details about James’ attack on her.

James turned on model Nicoline while they were at their home in Spain last month.

He was arrested and spent several hours in police cells before admitting a charge of domestic violence in court.

Nicoline later spoke out in a statement, confessing: “My fractures on my body have finally healed but I’m wounded inside.”

Recalling the traumatic experience, she said: “I was brutally thrown out of our new home in the middle of the night wearing only my pyjamas.

“I opened the door to let him in and only minutes after I found myself laying down on the stairs outside our house. 

My clothes and belongings were being thrown out from the balcony down on me. I was injured.”

Nicoline also placed the blame for Argent’s violence with constant clashes over his ex-girlfriend Lydia Bright.

Shortly before the attack, she posted a story questioning whether it was acceptable for someone to remain close to their ex while in a new relationship. 

And Nicoline claimed she and Argent often clashed over Lydia’s involvement in their romance. 

She said: “I felt there were too many people in our relationship: me, my boyfriend and his ex. ‘Three’s a crowd’, they say. 

“I asked so many times if we could be just the two of us, but the answer was a strong NO.

“I experienced what I can only describe as targeted emotional distress which he allowed to continue.”

Nicoline continued: “After being together for one year my boyfriend finally promised me that he would have boundaries. 

“He would put a stop to all that had been going on for months. 

“But he didn’t. Instead he broke the promise and her controlling behaviour continued. The rest is history.”

Nicoline went on to thank the people who came to her aid and added: “I have tried to understand why.

“I have cried so many tears thinking about the way he chose to hurt me. He said he loved me and I believed him and here we are.

“There is now a legal record of what happened. Violence has no excuse – no matter how much love preceded it.”

Argent was handed a six month suspended sentence and a two-year restraining order banning him from contacting Nicoline. 

He has only spoken once since The Sun revealed the attack on Nicoline and said: “I haven’t relapsed.

“I am still three years and four months clean and sober.

“I am devastated by what’s happened.”

LOVE Island fans are convinced they have already worked out who will get sent home in the first twist of the series.

Before entering the villa, Toni explained that she had soft spot for Bradley Cooper and Kim Kardashian’s ex Odell Beckham Jr.

Discussing who she might go for, one person speculated: “I would say whoever is coupled up with Ben or maybe Connor is probably in trouble no girls were interested in sam last year when he got dumped , possibly the girl who gets dumped has no boys interested in her as it makes no sense dumping a girl who is popular with the boys.”

A second said: “I feel like the bombshell would go for ben or blu so i fear it might be Shakira , meg or helena.”

While a third added: “Shakira is going home. I think she picks Ben and then Toni picks Ben dumping Shakira. Put it this way if it is her she better be coming back.”

Tonight’s episode is set to start with a bang as Maya makes a huge announcement shortly after the girls arrive.

She tells them:  “This year things are slightly different. You’ve told me what your type on paper is, but does that match your ideal man in reality? Come and join me by the pool.” 

As the girls line up, Maya explains: “Girls, in front of you there are six love hearts and each boy has given me their dating profile which is written on each of these hearts – shall we have a look at what these boys have to offer?”

On the boards the girls see descriptions for this year’s boys: Ben, Dejon, Harry, Conor, Blu and Tommy. 

The girls have to decide who they’d like to couple up with based on these key stats with the boys’ name, age, job and a headline, such as “I like to play hard and work harder! I love to play, so I work very hard…”, to help them decide who to pick. 

After discussing the profiles and trying to work out who might be right for them, Maya counts to three and they must run to a heart, with only one girl allowed to stand by each heart. 

Once the boys arrive and meet their match, it doesn’t take long until they get another surprise.

Maya makes a shock return to the Villa with some huge news – someone new is already on their way.

Suddenly, the series’ first bombshell Toni makes a dramatic entrance into the Villa. 

The Islanders are quick to realise she’s come all the way from the US as Toni teasingly says: “Good evening UK! Surprise!” 

The Islanders can’t believe there’s an American bombshell and there’s clearly some excitement amongst the boys… and some concerns for the girls. 

Maya then drops some more big news: not only has Toni just arrived all the way from the States, but she is also going to immediately steal one of the boys – meaning one girls time on the island will be cut short. 

The plane was forced to divert to the Rome Fiumicino Airport "due to operational limitations," according to American Airlines, which was operating the flight with the larger Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
