A CHANNEL 5 drama has secured a second series – before series one has even hit screens.
The period show is a reimagining of a Nobel Prize-winning book series.
Penned by Poldark screenwriter Debbie Horsfield, The Forsytes follows an upper-class family of stockbrokers across multiple generations.
And it is set against the backdrop of a rapidly evolving late-Victorian world.
Despite the first series having not yet aired, a second instalment has already been confirmed.
Among the leading cast members are Doctor Who star Millie Gibson and The Morning Show actor Jack Davenport.
Further cast includes Joshua Orpin, Francesca Annis, Stephen Moyer, Eleanor Tomlinson and Susan Hampshire OBE.
Millie, 20, portrays Irene Heron, the dancer, who is known for her scandalous manner when it comes to men.
BAFTA winner Francesca, 80, plays formidable Forsyte matriarch Ann while Jack, 52, stars as Ann’s competitive son James.
Susan Hampshire, OBE, who starred in the 1967 BBC Forsyte Saga and won the first of her three lead actress Emmys for the role, plays Lady Carteret.
The show is based on a trilogy of books called The Forsyte Saga, written by John Galsworthy.
These novels were released between 1906 to 1921 – with several adaptations over the years.

“With the first series set to air soon, this early commitment to a second chapter is a testament to the strength of the stories and characters that we know our audience will embrace.

Viewers don’t have too long to wait, as series one is set to launch on 5 later this year.

It was originally commissioned by Masterpiece on PBS and produced by Mammoth Screen, part of ITV Studios,
But earlier this year, it was revealed Channel 5 had secured the broadcast rights for the rebooted series.

IF you’ve recently moved house or are looking to decorate, then you may want to take note.
That’s because a professional cleaner has listed the five common items she’d never have in her home – and it’s not good news if you’ve opted for a cute rug under the toilet.
Explaining why in a clip shared to TikTok, the cleaning whizz said ”these must be the most unhygienic things you can have in your house”.
So while it may elevate your bathroom – and keep your feet warm during the colder months – it may be best to avoid jumping on this trend.
Moving on, she pointed out that she’d also never have a silicone toilet brush.
While many of us tend to assume this loo brush alternative works better to keep everything sparkling, the expert warned that this is a myth.
”What’s more unhygienic than not being able to scrub s**t off a toilet with one of these?” blasted the expert who posts under the username @behind.the.sofa.c.
Next up, she strongly advised homeowners to steer clear of opting for black furniture because of how much it shows marks, while she pointed out that matt cupboards are a no-go.
”Big no-no from us. They look lovely until you use them and if you don’t know how to clean them then they tend be left looking like this,” she said, sharing a snap of greasy fingerprints left on the surface.
Not stopping there, the cleaning pro added that horizontal blinds are also on her hit list because of the amount of dust that gets collected in the crevices.
While horizontal blinds are a common feature in millions of houses across the world, they gather dust ”like there’s no tomorrow and they’re a pain to clean”.
Last but certainly not least in her list of no-nos were also high windows.
Although ”they can look lovely” and are ideal for checking out the glorious nighttime sky, this house feature is ”a target for birds to leave s**t on”.
It wasn’t long before the video went viral garnering close to 2million views and hundreds of comments, with very mixed responses.
One person said: ”I’m sorry but I need a rug by the toilet to keep my feet warm.

Crumbs, dust, and spills accumulate over time, attracting pests and creating bad odours.

The rubber gasket traps mould, mildew, and detergent buildup. Wipe it down with white vinegar and leave the door open to air dry.
Light Switches and Remote Controls
Touched daily but rarely cleaned, making them germ hotspots. Wipe them down with disinfectant regularly.
Under the Sofa Cushions
Crumbs, dust, and even lost items hide in the cracks. Remove the cushions and vacuum thoroughly.
Kitchen Sink & Plughole
Food residue builds up, causing bad odours. Pour boiling water, bicarbonate of soda, and vinegar down the drain to freshen it.
Ceiling Fans
Dust piles up on the blades and gets redistributed into the air when turned on. Use a microfibre cloth or pillowcase to clean them easily.
Doormats
They trap dirt and bacteria from shoes but are rarely washed or vacuumed. Shake them out weekly and deep clean them every month.
