BOOKMAKERS may have just helped add fuel to rumours of who the famous acts will be playing at this year’s Glastonbury festival.
GettyBookies have shut down betting on Glasto’s secret acts, with Pulp the runaway favourites[/caption]
GettyKiwi musician Lorde was also a favourite to take to the Pyramid Stage[/caption]
Leading bookie William Hillhas suspended its betting on the ‘To Play a Secret Set at Glastonbury 2025’ market after a run of money for acts Pulp and Lorde.
William Hill reported sustained support for Britpop rockers Pulp who had shortened into 1/2 odds after starting at even-money.
Another favourite was New Zealand singer Lorde who had been backed into even-money from 3/1, before the market was suspended.
“Punters appear to strongly fancy Pulp to make their first live appearance since 2013 at Glastonbury this year, and Jarvis Cocker’s band was backed into 1/2 from even-money before betting was suspended,” a spokesperson for William Hill said in a statement.
“Similarly, we saw a run of ‘smart money’ for Lorde, with the New Zealand singer shortening into even-money having opened at 3/1.”
Some believed it would be crooner Ed Sheeran after the Glasto team released the schedule and punters saw a gap on the main Pyramid Stage which left them scratching their heads.
However, on Reddit, some believe they may have cracked it –believing Ed Sheeran is adding the festival to his string of surprise appearances.
“Ed sheeran for the TBA pyramid set. Been doing secret gigs all year and this fits,” wrote one.
The guitar-playing singer has been promoting his new album, Play, which is set for release in September.
As part of this, he has released a number of new songs – including lead track Azizam and Old Phone – to get fans excited.
The event will run from Wednesday, June 25 to Sunday June 29 for 2025.

A SUMMER of spontaneity may be off the cards, after new research has revealed it could set young adults back £1,170.
The study of 2,000 adults found 18-34 year olds will face parting with £90.22 a week on unplanned activities.
SWNSYoung adults face parting with over £90 a week on unplanned activities this summer[/caption]
SWNSExpert Rajan Lakhani acknowledged that it’s hard to turn down spontaneous plans in hotter weather[/caption]
Also, a hefty 67 per cent admitted they are far more likely to go out on a whim now than at any other time of year, with 47 per cent justifying their actions with a “you only live once” attitude.
These last minute outings include pub visits (27 per cent) and day trips (38 per cent) – while a further 21 per cent will even attend a festival at the drop of a hat.
Rajan Lakhani, personal finance expert for Plum, which commissioned the research, said: “When the days are longer and the weather is warmer, it is only natural we want to be out more taking part in activities.
“During the summer there is so much for young people to do, from festivals, day trips and holidays abroad, it’s no wonder so many people love to splurge.”
However, with youngsters being strapped for cash, 68 per cent find themselves dipping into savings to cover the cost.
The research revealed that people have to take £125 out of their pot each month over the summer period.
Mr Lakhani said: “When you’re young you’re more care-free and have more wiggle room to be spontaneous in your life, but it does come at a cost.”
However, despite the more care-free attitude adopted in the hotter months, only 14 per cent of Brits actually feel prepared when it comes to last minute summer splurges.
Of those who do have spontaneous expenses, it leaves 17 per cent feeling guilt, while the same percentage feel happy in the moment, but regretful later.
But, 42 per cent admitted to finding it hard to say no to fun activities when the sun is shining, even if they are on a tight budget.
Mr Lakhani added: “It’s not just younger people who struggle to say no when the weather turns nice.
“The whole nation feels the pinch when something fun in the sun crops up.
“But it is surprising how few people feel prepared for this, even though it seems to happen every year.”
The data also revealed that 42 per cent of young people use their current account to cover these unforeseen expenses, 40 per cent use an active savings account, and just 15 per cent use a cash ISA.
To help them stay on top of their finances, 37 per cent would be likely to use a budgeting tool that automatically analyses summer spending, according to the OnePoll figures.
Mr Lakhani said: “Fortunately, there are automated tools that help you easily review your summer spending and help you get it under control.
“This includes lots of ways to manage spending, including savings tools like round-ups, which are designed to help you save while you spend, so spontaneous spending sprees won’t leave you feeling regretful.”

NEARLY all League of Ireland footballers are in favour of a summer break – and many want a close-season blackout period too.
The PFA Ireland, which represents professional players in Ireland, conducted a survey this week asking for feedback on the summer break.
And a whopping 95.3 percent of the 319 members who replied were in favour of the break, which guarantees five continuous days off during the summer, should continue.
That is a slight increase from the last time that PFA Ireland survey members in 2019 when 92 percent were in favour.
Shels’ gaffer Duff called it “amateurish” and added that it had “an air of the jolly boys outing…it’s a week on the gargle.”
But the vast majority of players are in favour of it, while no other manager has voiced disapproval, and Duff himself acknowledged this week the break came at a good time.
The survey also asked for feedback, and the players’ representative body highlighted that a large number of players surveyed said there should be a close-season blackout.
While players get time off of around four weeks before coming back in for fitness work before pre-season proper, they are often given fitness programmes and a tracker.
And it was described by some in surveys as “like working from home” during the only extended break that players get during the year.
That is in line with a study by FIFPro – the world players’ union – who compiled a study by 70 medical and performance experts that called for ‘blackout’ periods.
The PFA Ireland have highlighted that issue and will now bring it up with meetings with the National League Executive Committee.

There will be a further £5 reduction for Category B games and a £10 reduction for Category C fixtures.

ITVYasmin is a new Love Island star[/caption]
She comes from London and works as a banker
During the instalment of Love Island on Friday, June 13, 2025, as the boys discuss their current pairings, the girls are unimpressed by what they hear.
But the surprises don’t stop there — all of a sudden THREE brand new bombshells drop in the famous villa.
Emily, Malisha and Yasmin crash the boys’ night and waste no time in getting to know the group.
Megan sees them and screams: “There’s three of them!”
While a stunned Meg adds: “You’re joking!”
Harry asks the new bombshells: “Are you coming back with us?”
Malisha says: “Of course I am!”
Yasmin then asks the boys: “Tell us what your situation is in the villa at the moment?”
They boys fill them in on their current statuses, but are blissfully unaware that every word they’re saying is being watched by the girls — and the boys don’t hold back with their answers…
Who is Yasmin Pettet?
Not too much is known about Londoner Yasmmin, as she’s wiped her social media accounts.
That is, aside from a few glamorous snaps shared in recent weeks, where she can be seen hanging out in posh restaurants across the capital — mainly around Kensington and Notting Hill.
What we do know is that the 24-year-old hails from London and works as a commercial banking executive — a career that sets her apart from many of the Love Island 2025 contestants.
When questioned by ITV what type of Islander she’s hoping couple up with, Yasmin said she was “looking for a guy who is fit, has a nice body and who is funny with a bit of banter”.

Yasmin fancies herself somewhat of a flirt — but what’s her trick?
She explained: “I’d definitely say it’s all in the eyes.”
In relation to her unique skills, Yasmin added: “I can make a really realistic cat sound.”
