Bleach: Tite Kubo Has the Perfect Plan for Ichigo Spinoff and What Do We Know About It

It feels like yesterday when the much-awaited comeback of Tite Kubo’s Bleach was officially announced. Since then, three parts of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc have aired and concluded. The story has reached its final stage, and we only have the last part coming up before it’s time to bid farewell to the Bleach world. Is that the case, though?

What if Kubo continues the story through a sequel or maybe spin-off adaptations? Recently, the mangaka hinted at one such possibility on his exclusive platform, Klub Outside. A fan asked him about the potential crossover between Burn the Witch and Bleach. Kubo’s answer suggests that he might actually be cooking something up behind the scenes.

Tite Kubo’s possible hint at a potential Ichigo spin-off

Bleach is easily among the most popular anime-manga series, and the constant chatter surrounding it serves as proof of its influence on the fandom. Fans are always curious about what’s coming up next. Not just that, there are many aspects of the Bleach world that fans still have questions about.

Tite Kubo has an exclusive platform called ‘Klub Outside’, where he answers these questions, asked by the members. Recently, a fan asked him on Klub Outside about the possibility of Ichigo going to London for work and running into Wing Bind.

The mangaka chose not to answer this question, saying that he might tell the story someday. Two years after Bleach’s conclusion, Kubo released the one-shot titled Burn the Witch. The fan has mentioned Wing Bind in their question, which is an association in the manga that protects and controls the Dragons.

Wing Bind is also the Western Branch of the Soul Society. So, a potential crossover between Bleach and Burn the Witch wouldn’t be so odd. Given that there’s already an established connection between the two worlds.

How are Burn the Witch and Bleach connected?

Burn the Witch and Bleach are based in the same universe. The story of the former is set in London. The main characters hail from Reverse London and can see Dragons. They often interact with human society to protect and control these Dragons. The Wing Bind is the association that oversees matters regarding the Dragons and is the Western Branch of the Soul Society.

The power system of Burn the Witch is extremely different from Bleach. It’ll be interesting to see how Ichigo’s powers prove to be useful against the Dragons. Even though Kubo hasn’t greenlit this possibility, his answer suggests that something similar is on his mind. And that is enough to get fans talking.

If such a crossover materializes into reality, it’s highly likely that Ichigo won’t be the only character involved in it. The Thousand-Year Blood War anime is nearing its end, and such a spin-off might be a good continuation of the series. The story of Bleach won’t be tampered with, but we’ll get to see what the characters are up to. Hopefully, the “someday” mentioned by Kubo is just around the corner.

Bleach is currently available to stream on Hulu.
