Cheapest supermarket selling massive Toblerone bars for just £3 revealed as shoppers grab them for Father’s Day

MORRISONS has the lowest price for a big Toblerone bar just in time for Father’s Day.

The major supermarket has slashed the price of the 360g block of chocolate in multiple flavours by 50 percent.

The £3 price tag for the tasty Swiss bar is available to those with a Morrisons’ member card.

This price is cheaper than the next lowest of £4.75 which is available at Tesco for Clubcard holders only.

Otherwise the 40 gram bar of Milk Chocolate Toblerone and other flavours is currently listed for £6 at Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Ocado.

The price drop comes days after Morrisons restocked the gigantic Toblerone bar which weighs 4.5kg and is more than 12 times bigger.

The limited-edition bar is in stores now and will be until Sunday June 15, 2025 making it the perfect present for Father’s day.

While the bar weighs in at a hefty weight, so does the price, with the bar on offer at £60 for customers with a More Card.

However, those without a More Card will have to pay the full price of £80.

The chocolate bar is only available in store at Morrisons but is also currently sold on Amazon for £69.99.

Along with the Toblerone deals, savvy shoppers noted how Morrisons is also offering a great price of Terry’s Chocolate Orange.

The major supermarket slashed the price of the beloved chocolate favourite and shoppers can choose from two different flavours.

What is loyalty pricing?

You may have heard of loyalty pricing, but do you know what it is?

Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Morrisons are three supermarkets that offer customers signed up to their loyalty schemes exclusive discounts – known as loyalty pricing.

All three retailer’s schemes, Nectar Card, Clubcard and More Card, are free to sign up to as well.

The obvious advantage to loyalty pricing is that you can save potentially hundreds of pounds a year on your shopping, all without spending a penny.

But different supermarkets offer exclusive discounts on different products, so do some research before doing your shopping.

Either way, be wary of supermarkets artificially inflating prices to make it seem like you’re getting a better deal than you are.

A previous investigation by consumer group Which? found Sainsbury’s and Tesco have increased the price of everyday goods then slapped loyalty prices on them thinking customers wouldn’t notice.

Either way, it’s worth shopping around though.

Supermarkets change their prices all the time, sometimes multiple times daily, so it’s worth researching to ensure you’re getting the best price on an item.

You can use websites like Trolley to see how the major supermarket’s compare in terms of price on any number of goods.

Morrisons is selling the 90g ball in both the original and mint flavours for £1.50, for those with a member’s card.

The full price of the tasty treat is usually £2 and the reduced price is also cheaper than what Sainsbury’s and Tesco sell it for, which is £1.95 at both supermarkets.

Even with a Tesco Clubcard, Terry’s Chocolate Orange 90g costs £1.75, making the Morrisons offer cheaper.

Amazon’s selling a £7 cabin bag that’s Ryanair & easyJet approved – it fits 5 days’ of clothes in & comes in 4 colours

IF you’re planning a summer getaway, an affordable Amazon buy is perfect for avoiding those baggage fees at the airport.

Opting for just a carry on may seem cheaper but fines at the gate can put a damper on the start of your holiday.

Beige foldable travel bag with shoulder strap.

A budget-friendly carry on bag is available from Amazon for just £6.99[/caption]

With a quick click on Amazon, you can pick up a compact cabin bag, approved by Ryanair and easyJet.

This bag measures 40 centimetres in length and 25 centimetres in height, making it perfect for under seat storage.

The Estefanlo Cabin Bag is available for just £6.99 from Amazon.

It comes in four colours: beige, black, grey, and pink.

The measurements on this bag allow you to carry on the maximum amount of luggage into the cabin.

It meets the guidelines for major airlines including Ryanair, easyJet, and British Airways.

Made with water-resistent fabric, you don’t need to worry about landing into wet weather conditions.

This hand luggage bag even features an extra shoulder strap for your comfort.

A pouch allows the duffel to fit over the handle of a wheeled suitcase.

And if you haven’t splurged for checked luggage, this bag is said to hold up to five days worth of clothes.

And that’s not all, it also features an exterior pocket for all your travel essentials.

This includes items like your boarding pass, passport, and other documents you may need.

These cabin bags can also be used to transport gym and sports gear.

It can even be utilised as a hospital bag and for overnight camping trips.

The smooth reliable zips and reinforced straps make this bag ideal for long haul travel.

Advice for flying with Ryanair

  • All Ryanair passengers can bring a small personal bag on board but this must fit under the seat in front of you, but it must be no bigger than 40cm x 20cm x 25cm
  • Any over-sized cabin bags will be refused at the boarding gate and put in the hold for a fee
  • Ryanair also charges passengers up to £55 check-in at the airport
  • Anyone who loses their card at the airport will have to pay a £20 reissue fee
  • Book to sit in the front five rows if you want to head off the plane first
  • Extra legroom seats can be found in rows 1 A, B, C or 2 D, E, F as well as row 16 and 17 near the emergency exit
  • The worst seat on Ryanair’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft is also 11A because of its lack of window.

Amazon shoppers heaped on the praise for the budget bag in the review section.

“Flew Ryanair and fitted plenty of items inside which fitted perfectly under the seat on the flight,” said one customer.

“Highly recommend as I’m now using as a gym bag.”

“I love it, perfect size and the folding, I will recommend it to friends and family,” wrote another buyer.

A third person said the luggage is “the perfect size” and “holds loads”.

Cover ugly walls or fences with a beautiful, fast-growing flower – it also adds privacy to your garden

IF your garden has an ugly wall or fence that needs brightening up, there’s one flower for the job.

You can cover the eyesore and help to elevate your garden’s privacy in one go.

Gardening experts recommend adding a flower to your garden walls and fences (stock image)[/caption]

The experts at Gardener’s World named the best plant for the job, and detailed how to grow and prune it.

They recommended adding trumpet vines, officially known as Campsis, to your walls and fences.

The deciduous woody climbers feature red, orange, or yellow tubular flowers that bloom from late summer through to autumn.

Give these plants a large space to grow, ideally on a south-facing wall or a pergola in direct sunlight.

They will quickly cover a framework, but experts advise annual pruning to control growth.

Trumpet vines are known to cause skin irritation, so always wear gloves when handling.

Plant these vines against a large wall or fence, or you can train them up a trellis or pergola,

They can also be grown in large pots placed in a warm sheltered spot against a wall or fence.

While they are frost hardy, they thrive in warmer conditions, with full sunlight helping to ripen the new wood.

This improves hardiness and promotes prolific flowering, with the plants often growing to 12 metres with wall support.

They are ideal for adding privacy to your space and can spread for up to four metrese in width.

But be warned, trumpet vines can be invasive so be sure to grow them in containers to help restrict their spread.

TikTok garden pro Michael (@themediterraneangardener) also recommended the climbing plant for quick coverage of walls and fences.

He described the flower as “fast-growing”, explaining “it will quickly cover a wall or a fence”.

Trumpet vines are best planted in spring or early autumn and need to be watered thoroughly.

How to create privacy in your garden

CREATING privacy in your garden can be achieved in a number of ways depending on your budget, and the size of your space. Here are some effective ways to enhance privacy in your garden:

1. Fencing

  • Install a tall, solid wooden or vinyl fence. This is one of the most straightforward ways to gain immediate privacy. Or use lattice panels, trellis, or slatted fencing to add a decorative touch while still offering privacy.

2. Hedges and Plants

  • Fast-growing evergreen shrubs or trees like Leylandii, Thuja, or Bamboo along the boundary of your garden can help with privacy. Grow a dense hedge using plants like Boxwood, Privet, or Laurel. It may take time to grow, but it provides a natural and green privacy screen. Use climbers like Ivy, Clematis, or Wisteria on fences or trellises to create a lush, green privacy barrier.

3. Outdoor Curtains

  • Hang outdoor curtains around pergolas, gazebos, or patios for an easy-to-adjust privacy solution.

4. Sound Barriers

  • A water fountain or small waterfall can help drown out noise, adding to the sense of privacy. Or install fencing designed to reduce noise if privacy from sound is also a concern.

For the best results, mix organic matter such as garden compost into the planting area.

Dig a hole at least twice as wide as the pot and around the same depth.

This should be placed approximately 45 centimetres from the base of the wall or fence.

Loosen the soil at the edges of the hole and remove the plant from its pot, teasing out the roots.

Place the vines in the hole levelling the top of the rootball with the soil.

Then refill the hole and gently firm the soil around the plant, removing any air pockets.

As well as watering the plant, you should mulch with compost or chipped bark.

You can also tie the shoots into supports to start training the vine.

I was only 7 when I found out on YouTube hitman shot my innocent dad in our Dublin home – we lived in fear for years

ROBERT Delany’s terrified daughter discovered what happened to her father on the internet when she was just a young child.

Katie was only one-year-old when her innocent postman dad was gunned down on the orders of a psychotic dissident republican in 2008.

Collins

She has only ever known him in a state of living dead, put there by an embarrassed gangster and his gun-for-hire.

She said: “I had found out when I was seven or eight through a YouTube video. Everyone was talking about what happened. And it was on, I think it was the news. And I had clicked on it by accident and watched it. And I kind of just got upset and was really angry.

“It was frustrating to know. I think I took it more out on my mam than anything because I felt lied to.”

Katie, now 18, understands why it was kept from her. There can rarely be a right time to deliver news like that to a child.

Listen to This Is Robert on AppleSpotify or wherever you get your podcasts.

In the final episode of the This Is Robert podcast, Bob’s sister Sinead and his two daughters discuss the impact of his loss on their lives.

Sinead said: “After it happened, it was a very scary time because that sort of violent crime had never crossed our paths. So when it happened, we were extremely nervous.”

Speaking to her nieces, she added: “You were extremely nervous, even in the house, going to bed at night. And I suppose it was just, are they going to come for us? And I know in hindsight now, that obviously wasn’t the case. But at the time, we were all very, very nervous.

“A motorbike drove past when I got out of the car one night coming home. And I was like, oh my God.

“And just for that split second, I was like are they after us now? Do they know where we live? Because we weren’t used to that kind of…

“I just remember, you know, we’d visit, because he was in Tallaght Hospital for such a long time.

“So you’d have to park, and this probably sounds silly now, but you’d have to park in the multi-storey car park. You’d leave at night on your own and go to the car park. So getting from the hospital into your car, it was just… petrifying.”

Robert’s daughters Megan and Katie added: “Holding your breath, like.”

‘STILL BE QUITE NERVOUS’

Megan, who witnessed her dad being shot in their Tallaght home when she was just six and is now a 23-year-old mum, said: I would still be quite nervous, like, just as a person. I think it’s just in me now.

“I used to walk home from school and I’d always be looking over my shoulder and just watching. I think it’s just how your personality is now. You’re just a nervous person.”

Robert’s parents say the evil thug who condemned Robert to a living death would get great enjoyment seeing him in his current vegetative state.

Terry and Noeleen Delany have decided that releasing pictures of the father-of-two who has been brain dead for 17 years would give the brute who ordered him shot some sick satisfaction.

SICK SATISFACTION

His mum Noeleen said: “I don’t want them to know what they’ve done to Robert. I really don’t.”

And Terry explained: “The thing about it is, the b*****ds that have done this might also take some perverse pleasure.

“I think they’re that sick-minded, that they probably would. You wouldn’t be surprised — what would kill us is if they produced that in a pub some night and started laughing. And they’re quite capable of that, that’s how evil they are.”

Robert was gunned down in 2008 on the orders of a psychotic dissident republican who was embarrassed when the innocent postman broke up a pub fight involving his son.

BRUTE DISOWNED

He paid hitman Daniel Gaynor €10,000 to kill him, and while the trigger man failed to do that, he did leave Robert in a state of living death from which he will only emerge when he draws his last breath.

The brute was disowned by the republican movement, condemned publicly by the likes of Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams and former TD Martin Ferris.

In episode 3 of the This Is Robert podcast, his family discuss the pursuit of justice which has — so far — fallen short of bringing the Provo thug before the courts. As they fight for him, they continue to involve Robert in their lives.

But watching him lie in his care home bed is always a reminder of what he’s missing.

Sinead said: “It’s hard for us and it’s hard to watch. He has no quality of life and he’s, you know, he’s just left there.

“I don’t know if people are confused or they think you’re going up and you’re going to sit and have a chat with him.

“You know and he’s going to have a chat back and you go for a cup of tea. And it’s just not like that. We don’t know if he hears us. We don’t know. We don’t know anything. We just hope that he does.

“But it’s just very hard to look at him like that.”

She added: “It’s a tough one because you can be selfish and just want him here like that because you can still go and see him.

“I had found out when I was seven or eight through a YouTube video. Everyone was talking about what happened. And it was on, I think it was the news. And I had clicked on it by accident and watched it. And I kind of just got upset and was really angry.”

Katie Delany

“But he doesn’t have a quality of life and I think it’s very cruel the way he’s left. At the time when it happened, you know, it was just please, please, please, please, please keep him here.

“And I don’t think we would have cared back then how he was going to be left. But we just wanted him here. But so many years later now, it’s kind of, it’s so cruel on him.”

Robert’s partner Mags, who eventually had to leave him with his family’s blessing, still visits her teenage sweetheart.

Katie said: “Yeah, she’s okay. She’ll still come up and visit with me. She’ll take me up every now and then. She still loves going down and seeing him as much as anything. Like, as any of us do.”

FAMILY’S NEW ADDITION

As does Harry, the grandson born last year Robert has never really met.

Megan said: “I would say he would have idolised Harry from what we’re told. You wouldn’t have got a minute with him.”

THIS IS ROBERT - A BRAND NEW TRUE CRIME PODCAST

ROBERT Delany was 27 when in 2008 he was shot in the head on the orders of a brutal dissident Republican.

The innocent dad’s “crime” was to break up a pub fight involving the wrong man.

Shot in front of his young daughter in their Dublin home, Bob suffered catastrophic brain damage.

For 17 years he has been neither living nor dead.

But his family is refusing to give up hope that the man who orchestrated the attack will be caught.

This is Robert is an Irish Sun podcast narrated by Damien Lane, brought to you by the producers of the Kinahans and the Stardust Tragedy.

This is his story.

Listen to This Is Robert from Thursday May 29 on Apple, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.

Finding the right time to tell him what happened his grandad is very important to the family.

Sinead added. “It’s tough. I’m sure if we don’t tell him, he’ll find out, like what happened with Katie.”

RTE plot star-studded line-up for Joe Duffy’s emotional last Liveline with TV icon & 90s faves before new host steps in

JOE Duffy will hang up his microphone laughing with the final Liveline show a Funny Friday.

The 69-year-old will host his last Liveline on Friday June 27.

And RTE producers have decided it will be the funniest Friday ever with a galaxy of showbiz pals ringing in to tell gags and wish him well.

An RTE insider told The Irish Sun: “Although Joe did so much important work bringing so many serious stories to public attention, from the Magdalene Laundries to the Tuam Babies, he also had the ability to make the country laugh.

“He will be doing that on his very last show. There’s lot of colleagues on Liveline, who will be genuinely upset to say goodbye to Joe and making his last show a Funny Friday will turn those tears into laughter.”

Mrs Brown’s Boys star Brendan O’Carroll – who made regular appearances on Funny Friday – is expected to take part, as are popular comedian June Rodgers, Brush Shiels, and Clint Velour, aka band leader Paddy Cullivan.

A spokeswoman for RTE said: “Radio 1 will broadcast a special Liveline marking Joe Duffy’s remarkable career on Friday, June 27.

“We will reveal more details in relation to the programme closer to the time'”

Some are wondering if the Funny Friday slot later this month could be the last one ever on the show.

The comedy slot has been missing for over a year on Liveline, with former colleague Pat Kenny recently telling The Irish Sun that RTE bosses may decide to axe it because a new host might not be able to juggle serious topics and comedy as well as Joe.

Pat told us: “They (RTE) may decide to abandon Funny Friday because Joe is a bit of a stand-up.

“If you saw his interview with Patrick Kielty on the Late Late Show, you’d have heard Joe throwing in gags, he’s absolutely brilliant at it.”

The much-loved radio man is going out on a high after recent JNLR figures saw him add 6,000 listeners to his phone show during the past twelve months, giving him a daily audience of 307,000.

Announcing he was hanging up his microphone last month, Joe told listeners it had been his “incredible honour and privilege” to spend 37 years in RTE and 27 years presenting Liveline, which he called a show that relied entirely on “the trust of our listeners”.

Paying tribute to colleagues, Joe said: “I’ve been blessed to work alongside hundreds of producers, researchers, broadcasting assistants and the wider public servants who make RTE.”

RTE have said they will run a process over the summer to appoint the new host of Liveline, with an announcement expected in autumn.
