World Cup of Darts 2025 pairings: FULL list of players and nations competing in Frankfurt

THERE will be a staggering 40 nations competing in this year’s World Cup of Darts – and the pairings for each country have been confirmed!

It came home last year as Luke Humphries and Michael Smith fired England to glory after beating Austria’s pairing of Rowby-John Rodriguez and Menseur Suljovic 10-6 in the final.

And not only did that victory end a seven-year English drought, but it also put England ahead of the Netherlands as the outright record holders with five triumphs.

World No1 Humphries will be hoping he can retain the title as he gets the chance to represent his country once again.

But Cool Hand is set to have a different partner to last year – a certain former Premier League winner and millionaire teen sensation.

‘Lightning & large hail’ alert as Met Eireann confirm 21C temps with DAYS of thunderstorms & new power cut threat

MET Eireann have warned thunder is set to boom over Ireland from tonight in a dramatic weather forecast with “heavy” to fall.

Hundreds of people have been warned to expect power cuts over the coming days amid the “significant thunderstorms”.

Heavy rain will start from tonight[/caption]

Today will start with a mixture of cloud and sunny spells before some patchy showers interrupt dry conditions.

From there showers will spread in to the south and west beginning to first turn heavy and thundery after nightfall.

It will come after a “humid” day with temperatures reaching 21C.

But looking to tonight Met Eireann warned: “Early tonight, showers will spread from the south, with a spell of more persistent and heavy rain developing in Leinster and Ulster later.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible with a chance of spot flooding.

A mild and humid night with temperatures not falling below 12C to 15C and mist and fog developing in a light southeast breeze.

But the thunderstorms will not stop tonight, and will instead continue over the coming days with meteorologists warning all areas will be affected.

Cathal Nolan, who runs social media account Ireland’s Weather Channel warned “large hail” and “frequent lightening” can also be expected.

And he confirmed fears of power cuts across the country.

He said: “All areas at risk but especially the east. What’s the cause of all of this thunderstorm activity?

“A shift in the jet stream will allow high pressure to build to our east while low pressure sits to our southwest before slowly pushing northwards through Wednesday, allowing for a very warm, humid but unstable airmass to become established.

“This plume of very warm air will allow for the rapid development of thunderstorms with favourable CAPE and strong shear, all combining to lead to the development of strong and locally significant thunderstorms with the potential for some disruption in or two locations.

“The associated risks as we head through the second half of the week include frequent lightning, large hail and gusty winds, localised power disruption, localised flooding concerns”

Tomorrow will start with thunderstorms across Leinster and Ulster amid some heavy rain.

Met Eireann have again warned of flooding in these areas.

However, the rest of the country will not escape the thundery downpours with “heavy showers and scattered thunderstorms” feeding up across the country.

DAYS ON END

And it’s another “humid” day tomorrow with temperatures of 16C to 21C.

Thunder will be accompanied by mist and fog tomorrow night as downpours continue in 14C temperatures.

There’s no end in sight to the raging thunderstorms as Friday and Saturday’s forecast are plagued by thundery downpours.

Met Eireann’s Aoife Kealy said: “Friday then it’s going to be another humid day with outbreaks of heavy rain and possible thunderstorms.

“And while Saturday is going to feel a little bit fresher it’s still going to bring some heavy showers and the chance of thunderstorms.”

Current indications are there could be a pick up in weather from next week with “lighter and patchier” rain falling.

This is expected to be accompanied by “dry and sunny spells”.

Dumped Love Islander Sophie breaks silence on exit from villa in just 48 hours – and reveals what she thinks of Toni

LOVE Island’s first evicted 2025 star has opened up on her brutal dumping.

Fans of the matchmaking series were left furious when stunner Sophie Lee was given the boot on a savage day two twist.

Yet when he stood up to show his interest in Shakira, Sophie was left single and dumped from the island[/caption]

The former fire breather and dancer, who was left scarred for life following a terrifying accident, saw her Love Island journey end after Shakira Khan, 22, chose her partner Harry Cooksley, 30, to re-couple up with.

Earlier in the episode, Manchester model Shakira was seen flirting up a storm with all the male contestants after being left single when American bombshell Toni, 24, stole her man Ben, 23, during an explosive series opener.

Yet after she and Harry – who she dubbed “Hazza” in a flirty chat – partnered up in front of the firepit, Sophie was left single and ordered to leave the villa immediately.

The influencer, 29, has now broken her silence on her two-day villa stint and said of her antics: “I just was myself, fully. My silly, wonderful and little bit cautious (but that’s just me) self.”

She added of Harry – who stood up last night to show his interest in Shakira: “As long as he’s happy.

“I know for me, what I make of my life is down to me.

“I don’t regret anything I’ve done. I did everything that I wanted to do. And summer’s not over!”

Her speedy show stint was a knock on effect of American Toni’s arrival in the Mallorca villa on day one.

Yet Sophie has no bad blood with the bombshell arrival.

She added of her experience: “It’s Love Island – even the people that think they’re safe aren’t! If you’ve not mixed and mingled, or you’ve mixed and mingled too much… all of a sudden you might not have a strong connection and you could leave.

“Basically, you can’t be a slow burner and you can’t be a fast runner… in this case you’ve got 24 hours. What are you going to do?

“Toni is SO sweet, though.”

The show’s couples following the first dumping are Toni and Ben, Meg and Dejon, Shakira and Harry, Helena and Conor, Alima and Blu and Megan and Tommy.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
