After Pushing Tencent Sales, Delta Force Player Count Hits All Time High

Things are looking surprisingly good for Tencent, as their sales have improved quite a lot. Moreover, Delta Force‘s player count has skyrocketed, which has aided the game’s growth. We also know Rainbow Six Siege X is going free today, so things will look more promising in the future.

With hands over the majority of well-performing live-service games, Tencent will climb the ladder of success over time. With attentive support for Delta Force itself, Tencent sure is preparing to make itself bigger and stronger. Let’s look at how well the company did so far in 2025.

Delta Force has pushed Tencent sales up quite a bit

If you aren’t aware, Delta Force has now reached an all-time high in terms of player base and sales. Ever since its release in December 2024, the player count has grown steadily over time. It may be so due to the lack of alternative shooter titles that replicate the gameplay style of Delta Force.

Tencent reportedly generated $25 billion in revenue during Q1 2025. Game sales also rose 24% compared to last year. This was possible due to Tencent’s multiple ownership of different companies. Games like Dungeon & Fighter Mobile and Delta Force were also big contributors to the growth in Q1 2025.

Furthermore, their acquisition of Supercell’s Brawl Stars and Clash Royale benefited the Chinese giant a lot too. Implementation of AI would be a large part of Tencent, as they’ve mentioned their focus on their Q1 2025 results. The following was quoted by Mr. Ma Huateng, the Chairman and CEO of Tencent:

We believe the operating leverage from our existing high-quality revenue streams will help absorb the additional costs associated with these AI-related investments and contribute to healthy financial performance during this investment phase. We expect these strategic AI investments will create value for users and society, and generate substantial incremental returns for us over the longer term.

Tencent’s success proves one thing straight: they have big plans to dominate the gaming and AI market with their acquisitions. With Delta Force and multiple mobile successes, they are taking big steps. While they took a risk with Delta Force‘s futuristic approach, it is working in their favor.

What does the future hold for Tencent, especially with Q2 2025?

We already know about the major success of Tencent in Q1 2025, but it seems they have more growth coming. With the acquisition of Ubisoft’s major IPs, they might grow further.

Already, Rainbow Six Siege X is showing major growth in player base after going free, which can lead to more cosmetic sales. We saw a similar case with Riot Games’ Valorant, whose business highly depended on skin sales. The Paragon skin line in Siege might be controversial, but for interested parties, it’s a boon.

Additionally, Tencent also invested heavily in Arrowhead Game Studios, which means they’ll take a lot of profits from Helldivers 2‘s success. We are aware that Helldivers 2 is doing well with every major event, so that’s another sure-shot success in Tencent’s books.

With already existing successes in Q1 2025, the following quarters will be more promising. What does it mean for our favorite IPs? Only time can tell. But, from the looks of it, they are here to make a profitable business, so they won’t be making our favorite titles worse for their sake.
