ACTRESS-politician Aiko Melendez and actor-turned-entrepreneur Onemig Bondoc have confirmed their relationship, ending all speculations and questions of netizens if they are really officially together.
Love has come full circle for the couple. Thanks to social media, they easily admitted their relationship up front and that became their official confirmation.
On Valentine’s Day, Aiko penned Onemig a sweet message, calling him her “soulmate.” They apparently rekindled their romance, nearly three decades – 29 years – after their story first began.
In a YouTube vlog filmed at a resort in Zambales, the former actress-turned-politician said she is officially dating Onemig, her close friend of nearly three decades.
“It’s official. Yes, kami na po,” Aiko said, describing Onemig as her “destiny.”
The former matinee idol echoed the confirmation: “We are officially together.”
“Sa mga gustong pumapel, sorry guys, may nanalo na. Isang hamak na businessman na nagmamahal nang tapat,” he said.
In the same vlog, the couple shared that they initially did not want to put a label on their relationship, with Aiko saying they were “too old” for that.
“The reason why we weren’t giving labels yet was because we were trying to catch up with the 29 years that [were] lost,” Aiko said.
“Now is the time,” she added. “Kung ano ‘yung pinagsasamahan namin sa everyday lives namin, kung paano ‘yung pakikitungo namin sa isa’t isa, that says it all.”
Following the confirmation, Aiko took to Instagram to dedicate a post to Onemig, marking their first Valentine’s Day as a couple.
“You are not just the love I asked for, you are the love I didn’t even know I needed,” she said.
In October 2025, Aiko announced her breakup from Zambales representative Jay Khonghun.

Alongside her message were photos from a recent date night and beach trip. The couple appeared relaxed and affectionate, with images showing them holding hands while watching the sunset, wrapping their arms around each other, and exchanging sweet cheek kisses.
Speculation about their relationship first surfaced in December last year when Onemig appeared as a guest on Aiko’s vlog. By January, he further fueled buzz after posting a selfie of them together on Instagram with the caption: “Happy together… after 29 years.”
At the time, both said they were taking things slow. In a vlog in late January, Aiko and Onemig addressed questions about their status and explained that they are not yet a couple and were carefully in rekindling their relationship.
They also shared that despite being apart for nearly three decades, they had no regrets about how their lives unfolded – especially because their previous relationships gave them children, whom they both cherish. They expressed that perhaps this was simply how their love story was meant to be written.
By February 13, however, they made their relationship official.
“We are officially together,” Onemig said in Aiko’s latest vlog.
“Ikaw ang destiny ko,” Aiko then told him as they held hands.
“Ito na ang aking now-boyfriend…Onemig Bondoc,” Aiko proudly shared.
In October 2025, Aiko disclosed that she and Zambales first district representative Jay Khonghun had parted ways after nearly eight years together. She clarified that there was no third party involved in their breakup.
At Haya Nature Resort in Botolan, Zambales last January, Aiko addressed both the fans and bashers who commented on her relationship with Onemig. “Sa mga bashers, hindi naman kami magiging relevant if not for you,” the actress-politician said.
“The reason we are not giving labels yet, we are trying to catch up with the 29 years that were lost. Nangangapa pa kami. Ang feeling namin, we are too old. I’m 50 and he’s 48. We find it awkward to announce our relationship to the world.
“Ang feeling namin, kung ano ang pinagsasamahan namin sa everyday life namin, paano ang pakikitungo namin sa isa’t isa, that says it all.”
Onemig commented, “What you see is what you get. Kung ano ang maganda o pangit na comment, thank you na rin.”
Aiko remarked, “Hindi daw kami magtatagal. Naggagamitan lang kami. We are of age already. We know what we’re getting into. Hindi ko lang po kahapon siya nakilala. We’ve known each other for 29 years.
“I stopped dating because I will just be wasting my life getting to know someone who I barely know. When Onemig is here, alam ko lahat ng past niya and I was willing to accept it. It comes with the package.
“Pagka nagmahal ka, kailangan tanggapin mo kung ano ang karugtong ng past niya. Kasi it’s something that cannot be deleted or erased. Si Google nga nahihirapang ma delete ang mga pictures natin na ayaw ng makita. Same din with us.
“We have some things that we want to edit, but come to think of it, mas okay na lang na dumaan ‘yun sa buhay namin. That made us stronger and more mature individuals.
“For every ending, there’s a new beginning. We look forward to the new beginning that God has given us. Always remember, not everyone is being blessed by God for another chance. Kami ni Onemig, we were given by God to rekindle the time na hindi namin nagawa dati. So iingatan namin ‘to.”
The celebrity couple appreciate the comments of netizens that they are happy for them. “That becomes our fuel to make this relationship better.”
This is not just on a rebound. “We were on the phone for eight months,” said Onemig. “We made sure na wala na ang feelings niya sa ex niya, wala na ang feelings ko sa ex ko. Every second of the day, we were talking. Hindi ko siya nilubaybayan.”
Aiko added, “Hindi niya ko tinantanan. Parang sa TV Patrol. ‘Hindi kita tatantanan’.”
Onemig was in the US last year. “I kept of checking my phone if she called. Kahit nagbabayad ako ng In N’ Out burger, I was checking my phone. Bakasyon ko ‘yun but parang hindi. Pagka-gising niya, tinatawagan ko na siya agad.”
They want to tell everybody, they don’t want to waste what they have now. “Remember, life is fleeting,” Aiko said. “We don’t know what will happen tomorrow.
“Others are telling me, baka hindi na naman mag-work (this relationship). Doon sa mga hindi nagpa-fact check, most of my relationships were long terms. Nagbilang ng taon. ‘Yung kay Onemig nagbilang din kami ng taon. We didn’t see each other for 29 years.
“Mahirap man explain doon sa hindi naniniwala sa second chances or destiny, we both believe that it is. I introduced Onemig to my immediate family – my mom, Andrei, Marthena, my brother Angelo, Michiko. Si Erika nasa States. I also met his parents who are very kind and gracious in meeting me, also his kids.”
