Mzansi Magic has confirmed that Season 9 of its popular reality TV show Uthando neS’thembu has been extended by four episodes.

Following the show’s continued success since returning in February, the season will now air until Thursday, 14 May 2026.

The “realnovela” has consistently dominated social media trends, keeping viewers engaged and sparking weekly conversation online.

This season has seen viewers witness new dynamics within Musa Mseleku’s polygamous marriage, as the family opened up more than ever before, shifting relationships within the household.

At the centre of some of the conversation is Mseleku’s fourth wife, Mbali Mangwabe Mseleku, who previously threatened to leave the marriage if he took a fifth wife.

However, she surprised many viewers by staying and working on her marriage, even after Musa introduced Samke Khwela, with whom he now shares a baby girl.

Mzansi Magic recently caught up with Mangwabe, who reflected on how her life has changed since joining the show.

She admitted that one of the biggest challenges has been dealing with public scrutiny.

“The hardest part is that people judge you based on a small part of your life that they see on television. They don’t always see the full picture or the context behind certain moments. Sometimes the criticism can be harsh, especially on social media,” she said.

Mangwabe added that she is often misunderstood as an angry or negative person, when in reality, she simply believes in expressing her feelings openly.

She also spoke about how she has learned to cope with online criticism over time.

“At first, it was difficult because people can be very harsh online. Over time, I’ve learned not to take everything personally. Social media can be a powerful platform, but it’s important to remember that not every comment reflects one’s reality,” she said.

Catch Mangwabe Uthando neS’thembu airs every Wednesday and Thursday on Mzansi Magic at 8PM.
