WEATHER: Thunderstorms set to hit on Wednesday

More showers are expected across parts of the country on Wednesday, 22 April. Here’s what you can expect in KwaZulu-Natal, Free State and North West.

KWAZULU-NATAL

The Midlands will start off with some fog. The rest of the province will be cloudy and cold to cool, with scattered showers and thundershowers, but these will be more widespread along the coast and nearby interior.

DURBAN

Durban will be cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers. Expect a minimum of 18°C and a maximum of 23°C.

FREE STATE

Morning fog patches are expected in places in the western parts of the Free State. It will be partly cloudy to cloudy and cool to warm during the day. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected, except in the south, where it will stay fine in the south-west.

BLOEMFONTEIN

Bloemfontein will start off cloudy, becoming partly cloudy later. Expect a chilly 6°C in the morning and a cool 20°C during the day.

NORTH WEST

The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms, which could lead to localised flooding. This applies to the eastern parts of the North West.

MAHIKENG

Mahikeng can expect cloudy conditions with morning fog patches and scattered afternoon showers and thundershowers. Temperatures will range between 14°C and 22°C.
