James Gunn’s reboot of Superman just dropped its new trailer, and it’s loaded with everything that we have been craving. We see Lex Luthor’s wrath, interdimensional drama, and a glorious team-up between the Man of Steel and his best friend on four paws, Krypto the Superdog!
First up, we have Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor, who seems unhinged and terrifying. In one particularly sinister moment, he goes, “I’ll destroy you. And, of course, that reporter you always do interviews with. Who raised you as a child? I’ll kill them too.” So it’s clear that Lex doesn’t just want to target Superman physically; he wants to cut deep and hurt his nemesis with emotional annihilation.
We also get our first proper look at Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane flying Mr. Terrific’s T-Craft as the city of Metropolis falls apart. Amid all the chaos, Guy Gardner throws some serious shade and says, “Make a move, big blue.” There’s chaos, Justice gang, Superman trapped in interdimensional space, but let’s talk about the big punch!
Fans spot a hidden Krypto moment in the Superman trailer
There’s an amazing scene in the trailer where Krypto removes one LexCorp soldier’s protective headgear mid-air, and at the very moment, Superman flies in full speed from below and punches the bad guy in his face, knocking his teeth out as they fly across the screen. Many would consider this single second as the coolest team-up moment in the trailer.
But hardcore fans have been dissecting every frame, and there’s one instance that almost flew under everyone’s radar. It’s a blink-and-you-miss moment, so props to DC fans for spotting it like they have X-ray vision. It starts with Superman blasting his iconic heat vision, while he is blazing and focused.
And if you slow down the trailer and look at snapshots, you will see that Krypto is dragging enemy soldiers directly into the beam. Now that’s how Superman and his superdog play fetch! Plus, this isn’t the first time that Krypto has saved the day either. In the previously released footage, we see our Man of Steel badly injured, as he lies in the snow.

He whistles and summons Krypto for help, who then drags Superman into the Fortress of Solitude. Comic fans know their dynamic well, and to see it in the movie and the DCU at large is going to be even more amazing because nothing truly tugs at your heart’s strings like watching a loyal dog fight for his companion.
