Anime fans in general love theorizing potential fights between characters from any series, just to debate who’s stronger. Especially in the One Piece community, such hypothetical comparisons are way too abundant. So, keeping that trend alive, who do you think would win in a fight between Monkey D. Garp and Big Mom?
If the two ever get to engage in a final showdown, the outcome may actually turn out to be quite underwhelming, but only if it takes place on the Whole Cake Island. Now, true fans might already guess why this sounds like a complete one-sided matchup, but in case you still can’t grasp it, here’s how it’ll go.
Big Mom will most likely beat Garp to a pulp!
There’s this recent Reddit post where one avid One Piece fan started a heated discussion on what if Big Mom goes head-to-head against Monkey D. Garp. Who will win? We know how powerful Garp’s fists are, and he is also faster than Big Mom in terms of close-range combat.
However, all that will be nowhere near enough if we drop them in Totto Land, especially on the Whole Cake Island, to fight against each other. Big Mom will unironically walk all over him with much ease. Why? Well, the island itself is the reason, which is also a bit painful to even think of.
On Whole Cake Island, Big Mom will literally low diff Garp, and if it’s the old Garp we’re talking about, the fight wouldn’t even last a minute. There’s no way she would struggle against him while having an army of Homies at her disposal.
Now, some may argue that it should be against the rules, but in reality, it’s actually quite fair. In fact, it’d be rather wrong to say she can’t use them, as it’s literally her ability! Garp will come at her with everything he’s got, so why can’t Big Mom use her full power too?

This may sound sad or even painful for some people, but this is how the world of One Piece works – there’s no easy way around. So, for that, the fight may just be over in the blink of an eye. Knowing that even Blackbeard beat old Garp, there’s no possibility for Big Mom to actually not beat him.
Things would actually spice up if it’s any location other than WCI
This whole discussion centered around the idea of them brawling on Whole Cake Island, right? In fact, even if the two ever do actually meet and, for some unknown circumstances, engage in a fight in One Piece, then it’ll probably happen on Whole Cake Island. So, this comparison does make a little sense.
But what if we see them facing each other in some other place, where Big Mom won’t be able to use her power to its maximum potential? The result may come off drastically different than how we’re imagining now.
The entire Whole Cake Island setting makes this comparison significantly less interesting, making it too easy for Big Mom. But imagine if we get Garp in his prime vs. Big Mom in neutral territory? Now, that’ll be a fight worth remembering. The result of that legendary battle can go either way then.
