The State of the Nation Address (SONA) red carpet has evolved into a standout moment for South African culture and fashion.
Beyond the speeches, many Members of Parliament (MPs) use the annual event to make bold fashion statements, often incorporating traditional elements such as beadwork and locally inspired fabrics to showcase the diversity of South African cultures.
Some of the standout trends on this year’s SONA red carpet included beads, pearls and high-collared robes.
Proudly South African once again teamed up with Parliament to encourage MPs and the public to buy and wear local.
