Mariska Hargitay had a sweet outing with her eldest son, August Hermann.
The mother-son duo stepped out for the premiere of Re-Creation at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City on Sunday, June 8. Hargitay, 61, kept it casual in a pair of navy pants paired with a black top and silver heels, beamingwhile standing next to her 18-year-old son — who towered over her.
August opted for a white striped pair of pants and black top while standing next to his mom, looking all grown up. Hargitay shares her son with husband Peter Hermann. The couple are also parents to daughter Amaya and son Andrew, both 13.
Last year, Hargitay gushed over August during a speech at the Gotham TV Awards, revealing that he had just graduated high school.
“My husband Peter and I are in the process of watching our oldest son graduate from high school,” she said. “We’ve been shuffling around our house for the last few months just muttering, ‘Where does the time go? Where’s the time go? What happened?’”

On Sunday, Hargitay also posed alongside Re-Creation director Jim Sheridan and Trish Adlesic, who produced the Law and Order: Special Victim Unit star’s upcoming documentary, My Mom Jayne.
Sunday’s outing came days after Hargitay got emotional when discussing her family’ support before, during and in the wake of the documentary’s release

“Well, my husband is my biggest supporter, and it’s been amazing,” she told InStyle at the During Through Her Lens: The Tribeca Chanel Women’s Filmmaker Program event on Friday, June 6.
Hargitay premiered My Mom Jayne alongside Peter, 57, and her three kids at the Cannes Film Festival last month.
“Thank you for being by my side. Now and always,” she shared via Instagram at the time. “I love you.”

The NBC star’s upcoming documentary allowed Hargitay to reveal family secrets while reflecting on the death of her mother, Jayne Mansfield, who was killed in a car crash at age 34 in June 1967. She also revealed that her father, Mickey Hargitay, was not her biological father. (Mickey died in 2006.)
“He was my everything, my idol. He loved me so much, and I knew it,” she told Vanity Fair in a profile published last month. “I also knew something else — I just didn’t know what I knew.”
When Hargitay was in her 20s, she discovered that Italian entertainer Nelson Sardelli was her biological dad. She has met Sardelli in person.
“I’ve been waiting 30 years for this moment,” Hargitay recalled of when she met her biological father. “I went full Olivia Benson on him. I was like, ‘I don’t want anything, I don’t need anything from you. I have a dad.’ There was something about loyalty. I wanted to be loyal to Mickey.”
