Bill Maher mocks the growing tensions between Elon Musk and Donald Trump
During a recent episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, the comedian voiced what many have been thinking as he addressed the escalating feud between Elon Musk and Donald Trump.

“I’m not going to pretend I can really think about anything other than the Trump-Elon thing,” he began, as he went on to mock the dramatic fallout by comparing it to a mismatched monster battle.
He said,
When you think about it, the richest man in the world and the most powerful man in the world, it’s like Godzilla versus King Kong if Godzilla was on ketamine and King Kong had a combover.
“I mean, these guys were so close,” he continued, even giving them a mock celebrity couple name. “I mean, these guys were so close. It was like Brangelina or Bennifer. No, you know that. Elon and Trump they had their own couple name: Elump.”
Maher went on to humorously recap the events of the past few days that led to the very public fallout between Musk and Trump, a spat that has since made headlines around the world.
Bill Maher recounts the Elon Musk and Donald Trump meltdown
The feud between Elon Musk and Donald Trump began after Musk openly criticized the Republican Party’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill,’ following his departure from a leadership role in the Department of Government Efficiency.

Bill Maher covered the entire saga in his monologue, saying, “What put it over the edge is that, you know, Elon came in there to reduce the government bloat and all that stuff, and then they have this Big Beautiful Bill that’s nothing but government bloat, which Elon tweeted out.”
He continued,
He said it was a disgusting abomination, and then Trump said, ‘Well, he has Trump derangement syndrome,’ and then Elon said, ‘Well, your tariffs are gonna cause… a recession.
Maher continued, pointing out the mutual mudslinging, from Trump accusing Musk of retaliation over the EV mandate, to Musk claiming Trump wouldn’t have won the election without him.

“And then the sh*t got real,” Maher quipped before taking a subtle jab at the SpaceX founder’s plan to establish a self-sustaining city on Mars. “Trump said, ‘Well, you know what? Mars is a s**thole planet.’ And Elon said, ‘Oh my god, you are not the same man I used to heil,” he said before admitting, “I made the last two up.”
Wrapping up his monologue about the public spectacle, Maher joked about the intensity of the Musk-Trump feud by sarcastically comparing it to the ongoing legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.
Real Time with Bill Maher is available to watch on Max in the USA.
