- Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya has suspended MMC Kholofelo Morodi following her implication at the Madlanga Commission.
- Evidence presented includes WhatsApp messages and the sharing of internal tender documents with a police officer.
- An official investigation is now underway to determine whether there is prima facie evidence of wrongdoing.
Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Nasiphi Moya, has suspended the MMC for Corporate and Shared Services, Kholofelo Morodi, after she was implicated at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, on Thursday 19 March 2026.
Morodi, who is a councillor in the City of Tshwane, shared internal documents showing bid specifications for land lease tenders with Sergeant Fannie Nkosi.
At the time, Nkosi was in touch with several officials at the metro to secure a tender for his brother’s company.
WhatsApp messages before the Madlanga Commission revealed that Nkosi and Morodi were together celebrating her birthday on 2 December 2024.
On the same day, Morodi sent Nkosi a message thanking him for making her birthday special.
That message was then followed by an internal document with the Tshwane municipality’s recommended specifications for several land lease tenders.
Nkosi told the Madlanga Commission that he had no interest in the tender.
Moya assured that an investigation will be initiated into this matter to determine whether prima facie evidence exists.
“To support this process, the Executive Mayor will formally write to the Secretary of the Madlanga Commission, Dr Nolitha Vukuza, to request that the Commission furnish the City with any information in its possession relating to the allegations. This will enable the City to assess the matters raised in a considered, lawful, and procedurally fair manner,” she said.
MMC Hannes Coetzee will replace Morodi in this portfolio during the investigation period.
