Skeem Saam actress Mogau Keebine, née Motlhatswi, has responded to social media trolls with humour after a viral post mocked her for being a “struggling actress”.
In a video shared on Instagram, the actress said she normally chooses not to respond to online criticism, but this time she felt the need to address it
The response comes after a social media user shared photos of the actress relaxing at her home in Limpopo.
In the images, Mogau can be seen enjoying a mango while dressed in overalls.
“Another struggling actress, Mapitsi,” the account wrote in a post that quickly went viral on social media.
The comment sparked backlash online, with many fans calling the post disrespectful and unnecessary.
Another follower questioned the criticism, asking whether eating mangoes means someone is struggling.
“So when you’re at home eating mangoes it means you are struggling?” the user asked.
The Skeem Saam star, who frequently visits her village in Limpopo, is known for her laid-back lifestyle and love for the simple life.
In a recent post, she described her home as her happy place.
“Overflowing with love and joy and joyness and did I say love?” she wrote.
Mogau responds with humour
Although she rarely responds to trolls, Mogau decided to tackle the comment with humour and sarcasm.
“I don’t normally respond to these things, but I just wanted to address this thing,” she said in the video.
“I’m saying, guys, the struggle is real. I’m really struggling. The mangoes are finished, the only things left are guavas. So yes, I’m asking you guys to please pray for me because I don’t know how I’m going to survive without mangoes from the fancy stores.
“I don’t know what I’m going to do,” she joked while looking at the chickens roaming around her yard.
“I might make some chicken.”
“But for real, I’m struggling, so pray for me,” she added.
Fans flooded the comments section, praising the actress for handling the situation with humour.
