‘Predator: Killer of Killers’ Breaks the Best Predator Movie Record and Now I Can’t Wait for ‘Badlands’

I’ve been a Predator fan since I first saw Arnold Schwarzenegger covered in mud, screaming into the jungle. There’s just something so primal about these movies, and I’m addicted to their dread, the tension, and the sheer brutality of facing an unstoppable hunter.

Now, Predators: Killers of Killers has broken the record of its predecessors, and I honestly didn’t expect this from an animated anthology. And this isn’t just a side story but a game-changer in the franchise. So, let’s break down what this movie has achieved and why I’m more pumped than ever for Badlands.

Predator: Killer of Killers is the bloodiest and boldest entry yet

I’ll admit it, when I first heard that Predator: Killer of Killers was an animated anthology, I was skeptical about how it would perform and whether it would land or not without the live-action grit. But it seems like I had nothing to worry about because this movie isn’t just good, it’s exceptional!

It weaves together the tale of a Viking warrior seeking vengeance, two samurai brothers, and a WWII fighter pilot, and according to early reviews, each story stands on its own. The animations are stunning, as you can see in the trailer, it’s almost like Arcane meets Predator

But what’s great is that critics are talking about the movie’s emotional weight and how it’s another worthy addition to the Predator franchise. So, it seems like these aren’t just mindless action sequences but stories of survival and defiance. That’s the magic of Dan Trachtenberg’s direction because he gets what exactly makes these movies so thrilling!

Predators: Killer of Killers broke records, and Badlands might do the same

Now, let’s talk numbers! Killer of Killers doesn’t just come close to the competition, it exceeds it with a 98% score on the Tomatometer. The movie is now ranked above Prey and the original Predator, which is not luck, but a testament to how perfectly this feature nails the franchise’s spirit (via Rotten Tomatoes).

I believe this latest addition is doing well beyond our expectations because it respects the legacy of Predator, and each frame feels like a love letter to fans. Plus, it takes risks, like who would have thought that an anthology storytelling approach would work?

Now, Dan Trachtenberg is set to bring us Predator: Badlands, a live-action epic that stars Elle Fanning as an android and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as a young Predator outcast. The premise alone has me hyped because it looks like a full-blown sci-fi epic, and with such a trustworthy filmmaker at the helm, I believe that it will deliver.

So strap in because the predators are back, and they’re hungrier than ever!
