‘To Be Hero X’ Needs to Break One Trend Before the Best Anime of 2025 Becomes Boring

One of the biggest anime series of 2025, To Be Hero X, is currently on its way to break some more boundaries and become even more popular. The series is continuously growing, and the unique portrayal of the narrative makes it even more thrilling for fans who can’t wait to find out more about the different heroes that are part of the story.

However, despite excelling in so many aspects, there is one thing about To Be Hero X that bugs fans a lot. It has become a recurring theme within the narrative, and honestly, it is taking away the intrigue that the narrative creates with the different plot structures. The aspect that is being discussed here is the recurring deaths that keep happening in To Be Hero X.

Almost every new character arc that is displayed in the To Be Hero X anime features at least one major death, which is now becoming more or less boring for fans.

The deaths of different characters in To Be Hero X

When the To Be Hero X anime series first started streaming, fans were happy to see a unique story that does not fit within the limits of any particular structure. It followed the stories of ten different superheroes, which were more or less connected, and at the center of all of it lies the significance of trust portrayed through the trust value that powered these heroes.

On the other hand, one element that became obvious with each episode was the deaths of prominent characters, which became a recurring theme throughout the series. In fact, the first death literally took place within the first four minutes of episode 1 of To Be Hero X. The character who died was Nice, the first hero introduced in the story.

After his death came Moon’s demise, which was one of the saddest moments in To Be Hero X’s history. Then the story shifted to another character arc involving Yang Cheng and E-Soul. This arc involved the death of Shang Chao, which also added bleakness to the overall tone of the To Be Hero X plot.

To Be Hero X needs to change this theme

Although these character deaths make sense from the standpoint of the story, it seems like the narrative is making a special effort to include the concept of death in To Be Hero X. Almost every character arc has a death sequence that brings a change to the plot and in extension, the main character, making it predicatble and a little boring.

Whenever a new character is introduced in the story, fans can easily guess whether he will survive the next episode or not by observing his development.

This takes out all the thrill from the To Be Hero X storyline, and in the grand scheme of things, it might hurt the series’ all over reception among anime fans who are experiencing the narrative for the first time.

There is no doubt that death is a crucial element of the To Be Hero X storyline, and it needs to be embedded in one way or the other. The only issue is that once it becomes so consistent, it ruins the overall narrative. Thus, the creators need to tone it down a little and maybe find a different way.

To Be Hero X is currently available to watch on Crunchyroll.
