Standard Bank is steadily expanding its Smart ID services, adding more branches to its network as it moves closer to its target of 50 locations by the end of April 2026.
The bank has already rolled out the service to 35 branches, with new sites added in recent weeks.
New Standard Bank branches added
Three additional branches have recently come online:
- Sky City in Gauteng
- Helderberg, Somerset West in the Western Cape
- Lusikisiki in the Eastern Cape
This brings Standard Bank well beyond the halfway mark of its rollout target, highlighting strong early progress.
With more branches expected to go live soon, the rollout is set to continue expanding in the coming months.
Capitec also adds more locations
Capitec has also rapidly expanded its Smart ID services, now offering the service at 86 branches nationwide as part of its partnership with the Department of Home Affairs.
The latest expansion includes 10 new branches, spread across the country:
